It means I don't want idiots like you blowing my home up! Hurry up and leave before I go tell the dragon you plan to betray him. He'll probably eat the hostages as revenge.

Veera sighs

Let's head back to port, report to the governor and try to get some extra payment from him. Then we can make a plan where prying ears won't hear.

[Leo]

What are you talking about? I'm Black with a "B". The only person who is talking of blowing up your home is Jack with a "J".

He picks up the rock and throws it back where it came from.

Jack never said anything about blowing this place up. I did.

[Leo]

Well I don't know. I was just having visions about shiny big warships when all the sudden I got hit with a rock and accused of threatening to blow up somebody's home. I just assumed they had the wrong person.

[Meliva]

The voice shouts back

You asked me what my point was for saying I lived here! My point is your friend wants to blow this place up! Are all humans these days thick as bricks?

Veera just sighs as she starts walking back to port.

Let's report to the governor and come up with a plan. Plus we should make sure Him and Lizze or whatever is still okay. Eloth stay here to spy alright? The rest of you, want to walk back, or take a shortcut? I'd rather not teleport us every time to be frank, but a few gold coins will persuade me.

Eloth nods and starts going around talking to folks as Veera begins walking back, as Agrat laughs

Oh just like Imp to try to score more coin.

He tosses a large bag of coin at Veera.

I may have unlimited stamina, but I am still rather lazy.

Veera catches it, hefts is a bit and snaps a finger. The group is back in the tavern, where the governor quickly get's up and says happily

Veera quickly turns to him and says in a very serious voice

Got a dragon holding them hostage. Giving it treasure now will just buy you time. It needs to be either killed, or driven away. Now, our Prior deal was I get the hostages back. If you want the dragon taken care of, I am going to need a far larger payment.

The governor grumbles a little

hmm. How much larger?

Veera strokes her chin in thought before replying

Let's discuss this in private. You guys hang out and make plans.

Veera quickly leaves with the governor, while Burt starts handing out drinks.

My sword is probably the only blade we have capable of cutting through a dragon's hide. I may have a few in my private armory aboard ship. Also, I should have some armor big enough for you, Eloth. And that little furry creature said no mortars, but he didn't mention your favorite thing, Black. Bombs. Of which I have hundreds. So, I vote we smuggle a deck gun past the bear person, along with a bunch of bombs. We used the bombs and deck gun to disorient and possibly injure the dragon, then hack away with my sword and any others we have.

Agrat smiles as she speaks in a soft caring voice

You know so often it seems young folks try to overpower their problems rather then out-wit them., Rather then trying to kill the dragon with brute force, why not use some cunning? Dragons love tribute. They also like to think themselves greater then they typically are. Young ones especially. Bring it the treasure it wants. Praise it. Flatter it. Tell it how much greater it is then you, and ask for it's mercy. Get the hostages out. And as a sign of good faith and extra tribute, offer it a large animal carcass. A Cow would be good offering. Then inside the cow plant this.

Agrat takes out a large metal sphere from her robe.

A very special bomb. After it goes off, the dragon will be in terrible pain, and have internal bleeding. It will be unlikely for it to live. But we can go in and hack it just to be sure. Plus harvest it's body. Very useful items can be made with it's carcass. You may have the bomb, in return I get the dragon's body. It's treasure will be given to Imp. Sound fair?
