This however, also depends on your plunder rolls; Of course, some tough luck, might face another 50 attacks.

Yes, it may vary slightly. Not so much as 50 (that would be exceptional), but 10 more or fewer may happen.

And who even has 350 fleets? I can only think of one player right now.

And with Ambush, you can only conduct a very limited number of attacks. At a very high price, too.
