I think your thinking is flawed Danik... We are all kings! We all have a seat at the head of the table. We all lead and follow equally. We share the same ideology. Because of this we succeed. This was the premise of creating VUDU all those many moons ago.

We are all Kings sir

If all are kings, no one rules..

Everyone is equal in isle, my role as king is mostly for the few diplomatic dealings we occasionally have. Otherwise my opinions, advice, recommendations, ect can always be overiden by the majority and hold no more weight than any others. Majority rules in isle however all voices are considered by the majority. Everyone gets equal benefits and everyone is expected
To offer equal support to the nation.

I make function descions occasionally like assigning a port governor however those can always be challenged by any member of the nation if they have a better recomendation.

Any member of isle can be the named king of isle if they would like to. We could switch every few days and all take turns, however that would be havoc on plantation rentals.

It is. We try to search for that 'absolute' chronicle of events. But its not all there to be found. Without a time-machine to take us back there, it may never be found.

Thats okay though. It opens the doors for some wonderful contra-factuals, the 'what-if' histories that, in the end, tell us how even the greatest events can turn on a single misunderstood word. Perhaps without that word the great event may never have happened. Or had a different outcome. Thats the pleasure and joy of history for me. But believe what I read is actually all that happened, accurately recorded and transposed into word or song? Nah. Its never that simple. Or true.

+1

The dinner table conversations at my house are replete with such debates. To some, these types of conversations are considered without value. To those people I simply point them to Plato and the "Allegory of the Cave".

“It is the task of the enlightened not only to ascend to learning and to see the good but to be willing to descend again to those prisoners and to share their troubles and their honors, whether they are worth having or not.”

I too see the value of constant truths. When I look to find my inner peace, I reflect on the immortal words of two great thinkers.

"There's an old saying in Tennessee, I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee... that says, fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me (dramtic pause) you can't get fooled again.”
George W. Bush

One could theoretically climb up the nation in a single day and only have to play the tax once.

I know. But that doesn't work for people with lots of ship. 4 is already a million.
