RolePlay- Abundance in Aiora

Postby Meliva » Sun Apr 14, 2019 6:11 pm

A bit later then planned but here's the new RP.

1. Try to keep things in character. Don't post something unrelated to the RP here. If you don't like this RP, don't complain about it here. Post a new thread or start your own RP thread if you don't like this one. I would actually be quite happy if someone posts a RP of their own so please feel free to do so.
2. You can control your characters actions-You can not control others. NPC's are fair game and anyone can control them, so long as its believable and in character. A guard for example shouldn't just up and decide to shoot an orphan for no reason-that is out of character. Anyone without a name will be considered a NPC, if you name a character but want it to be a NPC then just mention that said character is NPC in quotation marks after a post.
3. You are allowed to have multiple characters- but be reasonable. Don't flood the story with a bunch of your characters. 2 or 3 in one story is fine, anything past that is sort of pushing it unless you are really good at managing them.
4. Use Italics for actions, and try to separate things nice and neat. Also use paragraphs when needed. Quotations if for speaking out of the roleplay.
5. No editing of a post once you post it. The exception is to fix spelling mistakes or minor errors. It can be real annoying when someone posts one thing and another responds to it only to find what they responded too is now completely different.
6-Do not act on knowledge you know but your character doesn't- If for example Character A is being attacked in the tavern, and your character is in the church, you can't have your character suddenly rush to the tavern to help unless you can give a reason WHY he knows what is happening or he is rushing to the tavern.
7-if you have an objection to something, message the person directly first to resolve it.
8-To slow things down a bit, 2 players can not advance the story too fast and must wait roughly a day before continuing if no third party posts. I realize that me and Jack honestly move a bit too bloody fast, and it makes others unable to keep up. So I will try to change that.
9-The most important rule-Have fun.
10-Please do not decide things for other's characters without consulting them first.

Things you shouldn't decide for a couple examples are things like one of your characters is related to one of theirs, or one of yours had a serious relationship with one of theirs. Or anything to do with their past, family or relationships. That is up to that person to decide.

Next post begins the story.

In the port of Aiora, things have been going exceedingly well for all who live in the port. The harvests have been exceedingly bountiful, flooding the markets with fresh strong wood and delicious crops, several very lucrative mines have opened up filling the port with iron, and even veins of silver and gold, and several caches of hidden treasure have been found, greatly increasing the port's wealth. News of this success and wealth have spread, and countless merchants now flood the docks, trading goods and further increasing the port's wealth. All this has also attracted the attention of less then honest folks, and so local mercenaries and national guards have been on high alert, and many taverns have entire walls covered with bounties.

In the tavern called the Singing Siren, quite a few folks drink and cheer as they gamble with their newfound loot, a few also sit quietly in a corner, carefully watching the door, as the bartender Burt is busy handing out mug after mug of ale. One gambling table has a young robed man named Vicril sit's and plays a round of poker, as he nervously watches the door.

A man walks into the tavern wearing a trench coat and a brown hat, he whispers to the barkeep in a low deep voice
Give me a mug of rum and send this letter with a courier to Caspian.

Burt nods and hands him the rum as he takes the letter

Well It's not really my job to hand stuff to couriers, but got a brother who could do it. Who's the letter to be delivered to, and is the recipient gonna pay for the service or are you gonna fork over the coins now.

Also a quick word of warning, but I think something may go down here later. The robed fellow keeps watching the door all nervous like. That typically means trouble may be coming.

The man looks at Burt
The recipient will pay its to be delivered to the Harbor master there tell him Whitlock sent it

Whitlock takes a few sips then walks towards the robed man
Whats the matter lad?

Vicril chuckles

I'm older then I look. But as to what's wrong, well a rather nasty rival of mine happens to be hunting me down. She already had her underlings wreck my home and kill most of my guards and allies I had there, so I fled here. I don't think she'd attack me in a busy tavern but I'm watching the door just in case.

Whitlock's expression hardly changes and he says
Well I happen to be a Mage of sorts if you need any protection I suppose I could spare the time

Vicril rubs his chin in thought as he speaks

I suppose I could use a little extra help. Let me fill you in on what I've been doing while hiding here.

You see, as of right now I have a fairly decent plan. You see all this good tidings in this port didn't happen naturally. With a bit of magic, some favors and a good deal of help I managed to do a lot of good for the port. The logic being that with countless folks moving to and from the port and filling it with people Emily wouldn't launch any major attacks-she's got enough damn golems to flatten this port honestly, but she knows causing that much damage would put a very large target on her back from a lot of seriously upset folks, along with some other consequences.

I hope to sneak away on a ship during all the commotion of trade-then flee to a good friend of mine home and hide out there while I plan my counter attack. But I know that she's keeping an eye on that- I've seen some of her forces in the port-waiting for a good time to kill me. Like that mutt over there.

Vicril points to the window where a single white dog stares at him-it's eyes never blinking and it's mouth slightly open revealing very sharp teeth.

Whitlock grimaces
Me and my associates were afraid it was one of these witches me and my associate mages would like to keep them in check

He thinks for a few moments
I do not have my own ship but I'll help you get wherever you need to be

Vicril just nods as he sees a massive 8 foot man walk into the tavern, he quickly reaches into his robe and watches him as he walks over and sits down at the table. Vicril asks him nervously

I take it you're here to kill me Eloth?

Eloth nods

That's what Emily, Veera and Zephyra all asked me to do, and since I had nothing else to do, and blood is blood I figured id' go ahead and help them out. Course don't wanna kill you here-too many folks. So I'll just follow you around until I see a chance to do it. So who's your friend here?

Eloth turns to look to Whitlock
