Zombie Apocalypse - Best Weapons?

I had a discussion in shield about what weapons would be best in a zombie apocalypse, I say spear, bow and arrow second that.

It's fast, highly ranged, fast and cheap to produce, and almost anyone can use it.
A zombie running towards you? Just point it at the zombie and it works like a mighty wall.
You could literally just poke zombies in the face as they come, one by one, not to mention the extra range.

It's a real shame that all the zombie apocalypse shows never or rarely has people that uses spear in them.

What do you think could beat that?

spears are definitely a good choice of weapon.

One of my favorites that i would always want would be a good old crowbar. Handy enough to bash them away, but also doubles as a useful tool.

Can pry open doors and other things that you might want to get into, and a single crowbar can be carried around really easily.

Machete or katana. Machete can use everyone while katana requires some skill as they can break easy if not used half decently. Spear is good but it has low manuveribility and it will break easier than most things. Crowbar is also good tool but main issues I see are it requires raw strenght and not good if you have more than 2 zombies running twoards you

A Spear is good to some extent but what if they are fast and smart like in world war Z? I'd chose a Ak-47 with a silencer and scope and a fire axe or machete

also bows can't shoot as far as guns. To be accurate with a bow you need to be pretty good at it

Gusn are a problem. Incase you're crowded, you end up with ammo problems. Lightweight axes perhaps, or a heavy sword like claymore, raw strength and skill and you could probably chop down more than 2 in one swing.

Might be, but in case they react to sound, a gun is a terrible weapon. Might be, that you have a silencer, but then you also need a constant supply of ammo. The best option would most likely be bow & arrow - If you can find a compound, they're easier to shoot than a recurve or longbow, and they can all use the same kind of arrow.
