Perhaps you could implement it to nations as well but put it to a vote on who has the ability to send out the messages. a system like that worked on another game i played at one point. just a thought

We will reserve this option for now. Perhaps in the future. We are very cautious with such privileges.

perhaps ability of king and council members to send to any members of the nation -

The huge number of citizens in some nations may make this problematic

I would like this also for nations, for Duke up, but I understand the reservations as well.

The nation discussion boards are in the most prominent place of the Tavern. What exactly you need to communicate that boards are not good enough? Not to mention that they have a restriction on ranks.

I am not turning that down. Especially now, it is easier for us to implement this as we have the routines ready. I am just trying to understand the necessity.

I kind of think if you did this with nations - council members should add citizen class manually, so they can add only actives.

I would find the nation message boards just as useful, however would it be possible to send an alert when important nation messages are posted.
Similar to how the voting notifications goes out.

Edit - adding an example

I wish to discuss a law revision before we send to voting,
I would like everyone's imput
I don't want to wait till they stumble across the post.

The reason I feel it is needed on the national level is to support sensitive discussion. This can be set to rank at the national forum level but the issue is spies or others can join the nation, rank up and see sensitive information. So with current tavern format, even if restricted to rank, I will edit or delete information in a post so that it can not be accessed.

making the system limited to king an council only might be a solution.
