there are other chromosome differences other then XXY deznuts. XXX for example. and there are people born hermaphrodites( though I hear many of them dislike that term.) anyway my point being there are instances when people are born not quite male or female. but again it is rather rare.

There is but one sexuality in humans, derived from the basic instinct to reproduce and the enormous pleasure derived from that physical act : however, the act itself does not require conception to provide that pleasure, so how we gain that pleasure can express itself in many ways, some of which can seem a million miles from the basic instinct that drives them but all end up at the same place : the physical enjoyment of sexual stimulation and completion : folk seem to like mixing up the definitions of it so as to give some importance to one particular form, or too denigrate another : societal pressures can gives particular forms higher status and acceptability : not many would find the notion of a gay man working in beauty parlor to be earth-shattering news : place that same gay man in the locker room of their favorite football team, wearing the quarterbacks jersey and, well, stand back cos its gonna get noisy.

My own view is sexual desire is the driving factor in how folk identify their 'sexuality' : what turns them on, what gets them hot, moist and breathing funny : and desire is a very broad set of definitions indeed, some of which can seem alike, some of which can seem self-contradictary : is the shoe fetishist who really gets off on sniffing men's shoes 'gay' ? Even if they would not find physical contact with a male to be enjoyable or sought after? If its ladies high heels, are they 'straight' and so as a proven heterosexual socially acceptable in the Bible Belt? Different strokes indeed. Main thing is folk enjoy themselves without the need to force others to share their desires and practcies or forbid consensual sharing of them by others.

As for the toilet gender debate : somehow humanity has managed to survive this far with the unremarkable ( in the sense that nobody has suggested its worth talking about) fact of having gender-neutral toilets in their homes : I doubt having them in public will shatter that record of progress.

As an aside : public toilets designated for the disabled have been long been gender-neutral : So, not a problem for the crippled? Or just society ignoring the rights of the disabled once again?

I agree with some exceptions. The issue in society is a lack of morals and the gross misconception between sexuality and gender.

There are only 3 genders in nature: Male, Female, and None (Asexual). In most species there are both Male and Female for the purpose of pro-creation. In some species (primarily single-cell organism) the only way to reproduce is through asexual reproduction. You can only be one gender and can't change gender. Changing one's sexual appearance does not change their gender.

Sexuality is the relation of one's sexual feelings to gender. A person can be heterosexual, homosexual, or bi-sexual. Society likes to make up a few others to appease some weirdos, but in reality these three are the only ones.

As for the bathroom issue, I don't care what these nutcases do in private. In a public venue, if a male (obvious) walks into the same bathroom as my wife and/or daughter because they feel like a woman at that moment, I will feel that both life in prison and especially the new home I make for them 6 feet under the ground is the greatest thing on earth.

Ohhh come on Deznuts... and others... is that the biggest problem in the world-who will use male or the female toilet???
I am a female being, but if the ladies' room is occupied I use the men's room and no one here will give a sh** about that (or vice versa) ... and btw, here, in my country, many public toilets (in cafés mostly) are unisex... But, because you (not exactly you, but your society) makes of the all trivial things ''the big things'', creating and exaggerating in any sense the notion of political correctness, it becomes quite normal to make a huge debate about this, so the really important things are disguised with the various battles of the so-called human rights.

Nothing wrong with unisex bathrooms, as long as they are single stall unisex bathrooms. Having been to Europe, I don't recall ever coming to an open partial partition multi-stall unisex bathroom. The only multi-stall unisex bathroom that I can recall was a pay for use and the stalls were not partial partitions. They were full walls and doors from floor to ceiling for each toilet. Thus an individual restroom. The sink area was the only open area.

I hate political correctness, it's just a way that anyone who disagrees with your ideas can be discredited easily. Racist, sexist, fascist, chauvinist, masogynist, etc. are all words that have lost meaning because of this stupid concept.

And I disagree a bit Lana. Women can walk into the men's and put it off as an accident but men doing the opposite are usually labeled perverts. I much prefer people to stick to their real gender rather than their left forearm being male and their pinkies being asexual.

As for the political side of this, the socialism they demand will ultimately target them rather than help them and these capitalist pigs that they demonize will laugh and wonder why their daughters with daddy issues wouldn't listen lol
