Pitt's rookie is Capn Bob! I must say I'm glad Bob was chosen. He started out strong, but overreached, and, like so many others, found that the learning curve in PG is steep. Now he has joined Port Royal, and he is getting the help and advice he needs to become a strong player. I believe Capn Bob will grow to be a good player - some day. Also, I know that he has been supporting the game financially. Thank you for that, Bob! We need players who support the game if it is to survive - and evolve. Players like Bob help that happen. A side effect is that he currently has more resources than he knows how to handle, but with good tuition, he will soon get on top of the situation, I'm sure.

Thank you to all the captains for your hard work in selecting and keeping track of all that are on your team! I will be sending all you captains 50 credits as promised this evening.

For now, I must get back to investigating all teams for wrong doing except my own (its the Caspian News Network way), and may do a quick interview with all the captains except Banger, Pitt, Bonny, and Kim to let the voting public know of the wonderfulness of all the teams, well except those excluded of coarse.

Banger finishes the draft by choosing Talon Steel. Talon is another player I do not have much knowledge about - I do not even think I have a spy report on him (gotta do something about that). I have seen his fleets on the waters several times, though. He's ended up in a nice trading guild, and as he also sails under Spanish colors, I predict we have another trader under way.

And that concludes the draft! Thank you to all the captains!

On a side note, I went through the list of players to see who was eligible as rookie picks. It seems to me that it is only 20 or so players. That is not good. It should be a warning sign for us all. We need to be better at welcoming new players, teaching them, making the game fun for them, and keeping them in the game. Those who stick around usually turn out to be great contributions to our society, but surely we can do better than this. Let us all set as a goal that for the next draft, there will be more active players in the rookie pool.

All teams have a good shot at the objective.... while I agree with your statement, I am taking a harder look at Anne's team. Could be a contender, next to Pitt's team of course.
