In defense of trainers

Postby Rolando » Tue Jun 18, 2013 8:25 am

It was not long ago I came to these waters of Avonmora. I spent my days raiding and being raided. As a Spainiard I served a nation without a King or many citizens. Soon I found my raiding ways greeted by few and despised by more. I attacked so many of my unworthy and lazy countrymen, I was cast from the nation of my beloved Spain. The bourgeoisie of the traders guild would stomach me no further. I set course now without a cause to serve but plunder, a man without nation, a pirate. I sought fame and fortune with abandon, and at times paid dearly. However I was graced by the fates with luck, persistence, and good trainers. Despite my infamous reputation among some lesser circles, I soon came to realize that if I raided without care for long, I would eventually destroy myself as well. What I learned is that the greatest pirates find a balance. Some between trade, piracy, treasure hunting, and warring. Others aid new members and strengthen their guilds. I am no trade and without a surplus of kind words for the aspiring trader. However, I am a Pirate King, and all those under our protection, especially our trainers and new guild members have come under attack by those who forget without trainers and traders there can be no pirates. So to those few scalawags who call themselves pirate and attack the weakest among us, you are cowards. When I was mere deck hand, even then I fought those equal or greater than myself , not the cabin boy. Seek glory and you will find it, hurt the weak or peaceful teachers and I will find you.

Very much agreed. It is senseless attacking new up and coming players. And there is no need for that.
