Fun for me mainly. But I like to see the response. And I will still give kudos to Chin and USA for how they responded. I thought I would have the port for at least 1 or 2 more days.
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

It was/is also a great learning experience for those who take a port. In each take over I have been a part of, there has been some similar counters, but also some things that I didn't think of.

All good things to know about game mechanics that I may apply at a later date.

Someday, I will settle down in a nation or a port of my own. Until then, fun to be had. NOW WHERE IS THE FLAGSHIP!

He nuked the sh!t out of the port and would still have it today, if he didn't sell it to IoM to help squash a fight between IoM and Spain.

:D love it!

2 more successful hostile takeovers were USA early stages, tzogos from Wales and seaglory from cuba.

Quick guide to port takeover for dummies.
No guarantee you will keep it but these are minimum requirements.

Resources:
Build up 200-300 Million gc. Even better if you have Political Science Level 20
Get 2000 credits on stand buy.
Have 200 conspiracy, 200 Propaganda and 200 Charity donation at hand.
Have 50 Mindbar and 150 counter curses.
Partner with others who have that or multiply all the above by 4.
Get 800 Turns.

Action:
Choose a target: poor influence and weak nation is best.
15-30 minutes before update, hammer port with conspiracy.
Build up the port with a third to a half of what you have.
Use a third to half of your charity donations to boost yours further.
Self cast mindbar and at least 3 counter curses and any other cards you can put like favorable winds, company cards, boosters for battle, NPC that will help protect you from castings, serenity and purify. (This can backfire if you are trying to clear voodoo off yourself).
Keep an eye out for revenge.
If you can last a week, you are in a decent shape. Now you have to make sure that no one else does the same to you.
