Durian fruit is ok once you get past the smell, there is a cheese from Cornwall that is called Stinky Bishop, it smells like my worst socks, but once you get it in your mouth it is delicious.
Someone here served me a plate of small boiled eggs, but when I picked one up with my chopsticks they slipped I dropped it and out fell a tiny but fully formed baby bird.

funny you mention that I recently learned of a popular dish in the Philippines called Balut, which is a boiled fertilized egg. it looks disgusting and I would not eat it unless I was in dire need of food.
