For some reason I feel like some people will take this too seriously, in resume, my story tells that both nations were doing the same thing so, I'm not picking anyone's side here. And writting this little pre-story is kind of sad because it destroys completely the "suspense" of reading it, but oh well...

The great underwear war

This is the first edition of 2016 so let it be remided for the rest of the year!
War is something that has always been around Avonmora. Between guilds, between players, between nations... at the moment, we can surely say that a war is coming (if it is not already instaled), but... do you know the reason behind it? Why do they fight? Some may be for coins, others for fame... keep reading and you will find out the real reason behind this war!
As you might imagine, I was on vacation during 3 months at Vaasburg and it was a time well spent: sunny weather, at the beach and sometimes on high seas, just sailing around on one of my ships. I can almost swear I even saw a mermaid! But... with all that rum, I cannot be sure.
On one of those days, I was just sun-bathing on the ship when I saw a strange vessel flying the chinese flag approaching from starboard, it wasn't a war vessel but I couldn't identify what it carried that soon so I anchored my ship and stood on the beach, unnoticed, waiting the best chance to investigate.
Grabbed my pipe, lit it up and smoke for a moment before the ship anchored right beside mine. A small man, with these strange eyes came out of the ship with some papers in his hands and, with some fast leg movements, walked into the tavern.

I looked at the ship and two or three men look down, probably inspecting the port of Vaasburg, but none of them came down. I approached the ship and one of them looked at me, he had a huge scar on his left eye, so huge that I could even notice it clearly from a distance. As I only had my sunscreen and shorts with me and there were an unknown number of men aboard the ship, I prefered to look at the sea and give the impression that I was just admiring it from a better point of view.
Suddenly, the strange man returned to the ship but I noticed that the pappers were a little bit wrinkled which means he used them for something. The ship stood there, anchored and no one left from it for the next 3 hours. By then, I had already smoked my pipe a couple of times, drank a few bottles of rum and winked to some fine ladies.
At night, already with my sabre and my gunpowder pistol, some movement started to happen... they were unloading boxes to the back of the tavern, fom the ship.. At some point, one of the guys took a different route to the tavern, alone so.. I approached him and asked him what they were doing there. With a strange accent, he replied:
My name is Costayiong and we're from a crew of chinese merchants, we came in peace. Spain contacted us to buy some... stuff. We are just here to deliver it and collect the gold, nothing else.
I obviously asked what were they trading, which he replied with:
I'm not supposed to be having this conversation with you.. it's dangerous and if my captain knows about it, I'm a dead man and you won't survive much longer. For some weight on hands, I can tell you everything you need to know. If you kill me, you will never know and they will come to look for me." - I decided to give him some gold, and then he proceeded - Much better. We are dealing this.. - at this time, he oppened the box, took something from inside and... I couldn't believe my eyes.. The conversation didn't last longer, I only asked if he was certain that Spain did order that, he confirmed. I gave him some more gold, to keep his mouth shut and turned my back so he could return to his work.
We're almost there, keep reading.
After some days, the last peaceful days at Vaasburg, those chinese ships anchored for a day, unloaded at night and by dawn they were already gone and at the next day, this would be repeated, by other chinese ship.
Until....
Some U.S.A warfleets invaded the port, started to blast everything on the beach and destroyed Vaasburg's fort. Good thing is, I left my ship on the other side of the city, which means it was safe and ready to go so I moved as fast as I could, grabbing everything that was mine on the way but before I could jump into the ship, the strange chinese man I first saw, the one with the papers, abboarded me, asking if I could take him on my ship. My only condition was telling me everything that happened, so he did.
Basically, Spain was negotiating this....

A favorite product among some nations, it is said that it improves the evasion chance of a sailor and his reflexes; supposedly, whoever uses this gets smarter aswell and some people even say it improves the chances of finding a good wife.
As I could discover, U.S.A were buying this material from the chinese but, since Spain proposed a better offer, they changed their buyer. Obviously, the americans didn't like it so, they atacked the spanish ports that were receiving this kind of clothes.
