Veera smiles

Great. You, and several others go up, while me and Emily start making plans to head on out.

Emily tugs her arm and whispers sounding upset

Wait, why are we leaving? We should go up and help too!

Veera whispers back in a protective tone

I got the book he wants Emily-Would be stupid if I go up there and he get's it from me, so me and you need to move it far away.

Emily just folds her arms and replies

How many does it take to carry a single book?

They stare at eachother for a moment before Veera smiles and replies

Just one!

She quickly shoves the book in her face, and snaps her finger, as Veera, Alastor, Eloth and several others find themselves somewhere on the flying ship. Emily is back on land looking around before shouting

That sneaky bitc

Back to Veera she turns to Alastor smiling

You wanna lead a group to smash the power source and send this puppy crashing down! Or Come with me to confront Deadbolt? Or do you think we should stick together?

Dreadbolt first. If we can get him to end this madness before it's begun, and bring this thing down without damaging it, it would serve as an excellent weapon in the future.

Veera nods as she looks around

Okay then, now we just need to figure out where to go. I think he would probably be at the helm which I assume would be near the front and top, while whatever is powering this thing is probably near the engines at the bottom near the rear. Just guesses honestly, don't suppose you know the layouts of airships do you Alastor? I put us roughly in the middle of this ship when I brought us up.

He shrugged, as lost as she was.

There's a snake demon in hell with one- but it looked nothing like this. This is infinitely more advanced than anything I've ever seen before.

Veera nods frowning

Yeah, sadly my family tends to stay outta the skies-living in caverns and caves and underground, airships are pretty damn useless, just not enough space, and the work it would take to get them in and out, just not worth the effort. Still, I would assume that, unless they use scrying magic, the navigation room and helm should be near the front. That would be this way I believe.

Veera starts heading through a nearby door, quietly taking out a small bomb from her robes and setting it against the wall along with a small paper charm hiding it.

I'll use a little magic to hide bombs along the way. Try to line up a nasty chain reaction just in case things go south. Not sure how tough this damn thing is, but if I can get another line of bombs to the engine room, that should send this bugger crashing down.

Dreadbolt's cold, metallic voice boomed in the air around the small group, a cruel assurance in it.

Thought you could sneak by me, did you? Eheheheheheh.
Your defenses are failing. Speeding up my armada was a fatal mistake. Already the forces you gathered scatter to the winds, and your fort lies in rubble. Tell me, where are the reinforcements from King Nelson? Or the Lydriatic Armada? Surrender to me now, and I will show you mercy. For Veera and 10 of her choosing, I will bring them over with me when the world is remade.

The wall beside the group slid open, revealing just how badly things were going on the ground. Odd flying abominations, loaded down with gunpowder barrels were dive bombing small knots of defenders, and hordes of demons and void creatures poured off the beached vessels, tearing into the men who'd stayed to defend the city with horrific, otherworldly fury and efficiency. Gaster was directing the forces as best he could, and resurrecting as many as he could- but he was no general, and he was running out of energy. The fort was a shattered wreck, little left to suggest it had been a fort.

Veera looks around a bit smiling

You seem to not understand that we hold the advantage- not you. You need all 3 books to remake the world. So long as you never get the third, you will never win-and the third is in our hands now-and with my magic I can just run away whenever you attack. That point aside, I think I'm going to go ahead and ground you now. Big mistake showing off by letting us see the port.

Veera puts her hands together, takes a deep breath with her eyes closed, before unleashing a very large wave of magic as she smiles and laughs-

This is a spell I like to call Mass Traumatic Teleport.

The group find themselves back on the ground, meanwhile several of the attacking ships and creatures reappear inside Dreadbolt where they were just at. Veera looks up smiling as she sits down

We should probably leave with the book now. I doubt that spell would actually destroy him, but it will cause some damage and greatly slow him down. When backup shows up, they can hopefully slow them down even more. We should grab Gaster, our friends and leave now.

There was a moment where it seemed the flying fortress might drop from the sky, but it quickly righted itself, resuming it's assault. Gaster came running up to them, exhausted and drained.

Thank God you're here. I believe it may be time we embrace the oldest and noblest Avonmoran tradition- retreating and living to fight another day.

Veera nods

Yeah sounds good to me. Maybe up north to get help from Dreadbolt's people? Or off to one of the strongholds from the family. That would keep the flying ship at bay. Hard to fly underground after all. But I'd rather the folks up north take the beating rather then our own. We can use a nearby teleport anchor I set up to take us to a small dock up north- then we sail from there. Or would it be better to go by land? I'm not too familiar with the northern lands. But talk can happen later. Let's get our arses to the nearby park and bail. Emily has the book and is waiting for us I imagine.

Gaster nods, following the group. Alastor chuckles, summoning his staff.

I think I'll stick around, harass him for you.
