Either you're very correct or else you end up naming anything before getting one correct :P

The answer was mentioned before in a post but in a wrong context. Check post 11:28 am. I really had to be nitpicky there! I need only the name of one of the islands. I think we are all getting too confused and I think it is my fault. Bad game host! Would be easier with a microphone! Again: It is one of the Channel Islands. Which one?

Very nit-picking : Jersey and Guernsey are not nations or countries as such, they are administrative areas : only when they combine to be the Channel Islands could they be considered as a country or identifiable region, thus my answer.

'The Crown dependencies are the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea, and the Bailiwicks of Jersey and Guernsey in the English Channel. They are independently administered jurisdictions, and do not form part of either the United Kingdom or the British Overseas Territories.[1] They are self-governing possessions of the Crown (defined uniquely in each jurisdiction).[2] Internationally, the dependencies are considered "territories for which the United Kingdom is responsible", rather than sovereign states.[3]'

I agree with Danik. The Bailiwicks of Jersey and Guernsey are territories of the UK, not sovereign nations, just like Puerto Rico is a self-governing territory of the United States. Being self governing does not necessarily equate to being an independent sovereign nation.

Additionally:

In 933, the islands were granted to William I Longsword by Raoul King of Western Francia[8] and annexed to the Duchy of Normandy. In 1066, William II of Normandy invaded and conquered England, becoming William I of England, also known as William the Conqueror. In the period 1204–1214, King John lost the Angevin lands in northern France, including mainland Normandy, to King Philip II of France, but managed to retain control of the Channel Islands. In 1259, his successor, Henry III of England, by the Treaty of Paris, officially surrendered his claim and title to the Duchy of Normandy, while the King of France gave up claim to the Channel Islands, which was based upon his position as feudal overlord of the Duke of Normandy. Since then, the Channel Islands have been governed as possessions of the Crown and were never absorbed into the Kingdom of England and its successor kingdoms of Great Britain and the United Kingdom.

......Edward III of England granted a Charter in July 1341 to Jersey, Guernsey, Sark and Alderney, confirming their customs and laws to secure allegiance to the English Crown.[9]:2-4.........

......The young King Richard II of England reconfirmed in 1378 the Charter rights granted by his grandfather, followed in 1394 with a second Charter granting, because of great loyalty shown to the Crown, exemption for ever, from English tolls, customs and duties.[9]:5-10.......

From the last two points you will notice that they were granted a Charter to govern themselves and additionally an permanent exemption from English taxes and duties for allegiance to the English Crown.

Additionally..........

The Channel Islands fall into two separate self-governing bailiwicks, the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Bailiwick of Jersey. Both are British Crown dependencies, and neither is part of the United Kingdom. They have been part of the Duchy of Normandy since the tenth century, and Queen Elizabeth II is often referred to by her traditional and conventional title of Duke of Normandy. However, pursuant to the Treaty of Paris (1259), she governs in her right as The Queen (the "Crown in right of Jersey",[25] and the "Crown in right of the république of the Bailiwick of Guernsey"),[26] and not as the Duke. This notwithstanding, it is a matter of local pride for monarchists to treat the situation otherwise: the Loyal Toast at formal dinners is to 'The Queen, our Duke', rather than to 'Her Majesty, The Queen' as in the UK.[27]

AND..........

Under the UK Interpretation Act 1978, the Channel Islands are deemed to be part of the British Islands,[31] not to be confused with the British Isles. For the purposes of the British Nationality Act 1981, the “British Islands” include the United Kingdom (Great Britain and Northern Ireland), the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, taken together, unless the context otherwise requires.[32]

I agree with Dez and Danik. You are right. I was not familiar with those territories as I used an RNG to pop up my next country. I did not handle this game round very well. The least I can do is to provide Danik with 200k, as he was the first one to mention the Channel Islands, and to promise to be more vigilant in my research. Please, I make mistakes and I want you to point them out. That helps to improve the experience in future game rounds. Thank you, Dez for the great and interesting read. I like stuff like that. Keep researching and keep it coming!

I hope to decrease the number of mistakes that come with things that are new to oneself, such as running a game thread on a forum. I'm sure I'll get there. Have a great Sunday. A new game will be on its way soon!

Ahoy there mates!

Today I'm going to try a new game with you. I hope it will be fun, challenging and bridges your waiting time for those valuable turns!

This game is called

Hornswaggle! - Rebus Puzzle

First off, what is a Rebus puzzle? They are essentially little pictures, often made with letters and words, which cryptically represent a word, phrase, or saying.

A little example:

Stand
I

Solution: I understand

Another one:

EASY
Solution: The big easy

Some come to you easily and some are a bit harder to get. I encourage to not use Google or other means of help from outside to solve these puzzles, mainly in your own interest. It's more fun that way. Also, to be fair to other players. I can't stop you from it, but it will be your loss.

I'll provide you with five puzzles to be solved. Post your answers here and I'll have a look at them when I get to it. The first one to solve all five puzzles gets the prize. I will not comment on wrong or incomplete answers, but I will post that I had a look at answers periodically, so that you can know that your answer has been checked. Bear with me as I am really busy today.
The final decision on all is taken by me at my own discretion. All is subject to change. I promise not to hornswaggle!

The prize for this puzzle is:

:gc: 200000 GC :gc:

Puzzle 1

FUNNY FUNNY
WORDS WORDS
WORDS WORDS

Puzzle 2

MOONCEON

Puzzle 3

STA4NCE

Puzzle 4

---> WORLD <---

Puzzle 5

Have fun!
