The Grimm Brothers Response to Spain

An open letter to Spain from the Grimm Brothers.
Any nation can take a port if they have the resources to do so. They can then keep the port if they have the resources and determination to defend that port. It is when a nation decides it does not need to use those resources to defend that port and says "It is my port, because it is my port" that the Grimm Brothers say "no". No nation should be able to keep a port simply by saying "it is mine" without being willing to defend that port.
Spain has been guilty of this. They believe themselves to be so mighty that they can keep ports and enjoy the taxes from them without spending the resources to maintain that port.
When a nation is bringing in 35 million a day from taxes and is only willing to increase their influence by 1 or 2 million to secure their port over a challenger, they simply do not deserve to keep that port. The Grimm Brothers had a small lead in influence over Spain in Hannes and Spain responded by taking a less than 1 million influence lead. This smugness lead the Grimms to invest more in the port to take the lead back. To be perfectly honest, the Grimms are not even interested in owning a port. Two people should not be able to own a port. Spain has a history of believing one or two people can hold a port as long as it is Spanish people. And on top of this they believe they should be able to maintain the port with such a small amount of influence that anyone could take the port for a day by themselves. Spain wants to put on a party and enjoy all the festivities, but they do not want to pay for putting on the party. There is an old expression that is applicable, "If you want to dance you have to pay the fiddler."
We accuse Spain of arrogance. We accuse Spain of thinking they are better than others. We accuse Spain of believing they deserve ports simply because they are Spain. We accuse Spain of being too stingy with their gold to spend it on keeping their ports safe. Think about it, Spain recently had 4.5 billion gold and only wants to spend 10 - 20 million gold to defend a port and say "that is enough". When they advance themselves so little that another nation can spend another 10 million gold to take the port back it is encouraging the other nation to respond.
Spain, we are giving you a chance to keep this port without a fight. Simply put in a respectable amount of gold into Hannes to show dominance in that port. If you show resolve to keep this port we, the Grimm Brothers, will go away. However, if you do not step up to the plate we will step up. At that point any actions to take the port away from us will be considered hostile actions and we will respond as such to any or all of Spain.
Spain, I encourage you to put on your big boy pants and say "this is my port and I am want it enough to pay to own it". Anything less shows a lack of resolve and you will be challenged. You will be opening the door to others challenging your ports not just us.
