As a long time fan of Lee Childs 'Reacher' novels I found myself unconvinced by the choice of Tom Cruise to play the eponymous hero in the two recent films. Now I'm not saying he is a bad film actor but for me he was always going to be 9" and 50 pounds short of filling the characters boots. So I was pleasantly surprised to hear Lee Childs announce that no more Cruise-led films would be made and that the series would be re-booted as a long-form TV show. But now they need a new lead actor and I wonder who folks here think can fit the bill?

Well, Chris Evans is available, as he is no longer portraying Captain America. But t I don't see him as a very good actor.

For a TV series, chances are high that it will be a new face.

And I just finished rewatching of first movie wanted to start 2nd so before that wanted to pop in to check things and I find this topic started. World works in mysteriouse ways.

I agree that Tom Cruise wasn't good choice he didn't look like description in books was not in slightest.

Whom would be good choice I have no idea maybe Pierce Brosnan if years didn't caught up.

Its a tricky one has the character aint a young one : whoever plays him has got to be of an age.. which is in his forties. They also got to be bankable enough for netflix/HBO/Whoever to be confident bankrolling production. But GoT has shown you can cast new/unfamiliar faces and succeed. For me my mental image of Reacher was always Lee Marvin in his prime.

I can see it and I agree in his prime he would be great choice

I've had the 'Reacher' novels setting in my library for a long time. I was planning on reading the DA Vinci code today.
Do you think i should postpone it?
