Columbus vesseled by his ship Santa Maria still severel month over the sea, today known as Atlantic, on west course to discover an seaway to India. The continent of Amerca was unknown to that time. The stormy sea surrounded his ship and no land was in sight. The shipcrew was very dissatisfyed and nearly in a state of a mutiny. Columbus heared his helmsman crying to his comrates: "We do not want vessel farer to the west by oure ship. We know all that oure earth is a plate and if we vessel farer to the west we will all fall down to hell. We will catch oure captain Columbus by force, threw him over board Into the sea and then we vessel back to Spain!" All crewmen cheered loud out: "We want to go back home!" Columbus called back to his men: "Oure earth is a ball. That will never happen." Then he knelt down and prayed to God for help. His prayer had to be heared by God. Suddenly the man in the top cried out: "Land in sight!".
Columbus anchored by his ship near that land and rowed with a part of his crew to that land. Standing on land he kissed the earth there and took the land for possesion of the Spanish King by rising the Spanisch flag. In gratefulness to God he named that Island, which he had discovered, San Salvador.

Columbus actually traveled west because, he thought that if earth is round, IIRC he thought be able to trade tea with china without going past india. Which at the time, was a long journey.

He thought the earth is actually smaller than people say. And earth was said to be round way way before he was even born, a lot of population also belief it was round.

When he traveled west, and landed, he thought he landed in india. But, he actually landed on one of the islands south of now known as US.
After landed, he found the natives, which was darker skinned, being racist that he is, he killed them all, went island hopping and killed more. Before returning to where he came from to spread news.

The most hilarious part is he never actually landed on US soil.

Yes, but the disease he spread never actually went that far before dying out. Because most of it was islands, but the real killer, "Get it?" was the people who came there after he spread the news.

The king / queen that funded him, thought he was mental. But they were like, whatever, we really need more tea, people just can't get 'nuf of these stuff.

When he returned, people thought he was crazy, but a few went themself to there, not a lot, they returned and said it wasn't india, it was some unknown new land. Which before, columbus still belief he landed in india.

The promise of new lands sparked mass migration to there, irish, spain, england, german, etc... all went.

Not sure how true this part was, but on a video by adam ruins everything it was said he didn't even think the earth was a globe but that it was pear shaped. That part may have been an embellished joke, but for the most part Colombus was wrong about many things. And yeah people have known the earth was round since I think the Greeks, which was thousands of years before colombus.

I think its a group of people found the media of maps.. and the marks of the bouy on the sea.. so it goes..
