Ah Europe if it's not one thing it's another. But to be honest that can be said about most first world countries.

The EU is not a nation, it is a group of power hungry politicians screwing 28 nations for their own idealistic visions. The UK ( brexit ) and Catalonia is the nearest thing you will see in a modern country of a peoples revolution.
Catalonia makes 80% of Spains wealth and Madrid takes that money and uses it for the rest of Spain. Interestingly Spain is made up of 18 autonomous regions in the same way the EU is made up of 28 separate countries.
