I think its to easy already - I did my last nation change start to marquess in about 12 hours without really trying hard. I have seen it done in less than an hour. I did spent about 3 hours before that positioning ships and checking my cards to make certain I had everything I needed. The first time I ranked up in a nation, it was a small nation with no hostile targets. My hostile targets were the top ten most infamous. Despite a lot of warnings I attacked them. I chose which ones and how i did it very carefully. Any target is possible to hit if you plan correctly. Yes, I had to deal with any consequences of my actions. Its part of the game.

edit - adding this

As for those who are the targets, I don't think you should drop of the list because your hostility is lower.
You could attack members of a nation, and then have your hostility removed and not have any consequences of your actions.

All you need is a fleet of frigates/higher with cutter tail, good voodoo chest, your target and enough turns.

A most sensible and rational approach, William : with proper preparation, most tasks become a lot easier.

My objection to this original proposal is based on a simple principle : if you wish to gain the extra points from a target rising up the list over the time you are undertaking it, then you must also be prepared to lose points already gained when targets already hit drop down that list : the update which allows you to harvest more points from targets MUST then also reduce the gains made to reflect the current position ; then it would be fair : it would also be a total pain to code and the devs really need to be working on existing updates rather than stuff like this : nation missions are not impossible : they are hard and carry risk ; but then, they also bring rewards : prepare for them, seek advice where you are uncertain and they can be done : if you dont/cant/wont do that, then yep, its harder than it need be but that's because YOU have made it so, not the game engine.

The list is based on the top 10 hostility with the nation. So if there are 20 players on the hostility list, half of them already have no consequence.

Well...i mean if this is approved answer me this.

Lets say you are with Haiti
No one has hostility with Haiti, then some players decide to raid you 10 to be exact.
After the raid you start your nation mission and those 10 players are on the hit list

They use hired diplomat and reduce their hostility to 0 ,5 mins before the update.
you are yet to land a hit on any of them. After the update the list is changed;what is now displayed?

Who/what will you be hitting?
How will the new list be generated?

So how is the list constructed if your nation doesn't have 10 players on the hostility list now? I assume that their is a method to have 10 players on that list. I also would assume that if there aren't 10 players at the update, the list would hold the last players. And at the next update drop the lowest player off the list to accommodate the new hostile player(s)
