That depends on the pie, and cake honestly as well as extra additions. Now I do like pie on average more then cake, but in certain cases that changes.

For example. I would prefer CheeseCake with cherries, over Pecan pie. Since I love cheese cake, but hate pecan pie.

Now Apple pie with vanilla ice cream? Even my favorite cakes like cheese cake with cherries pales to that.

Also, whipped frosting is better then butter cream. That nasty stuff is just pure sugar made rotten.
