The king nodded, sighing.

It would be for the best, I think. Very well. Did you happen to bring any maps of the southern lands with you?

Emily reaches into her bag pulling out a map

Sure. You got one for the north we could have? Seems like a fair trade to me.

Emily smiles

Still think we should trade maps. I got more maps of avonmora at home, but no modern maps for the northern lands. Besides, I can drop a letter to my sister to swing by to let us know where Dreadbolt and his forces are at. Right now I'm blind to what's been going on down south at the moment.

Emily quickly writes a letter and snaps a finger-sending it straight to Veera. Emily nods to the king as she lays out the map.

So to get you up to speed, Dreadbolt put himself into a flying ship. So we need something to shoot that thing down. Also has a bunch of flying drones and some ships.

Emily nods

Heard about them. weird winged flying machines if I remember right. Very different from airships. Never seen one before though.

They're everything airships aren't. Fast, maneuverable, hard to hit, and way easier on costs- given they take only 5 or 6 men rather than several hundred. Do you know of any ways of duplicating objects? We have only a few planes, and it sounds like we're going to need them.

Emily uses her hand and does a little shaky gesture

More or less. If I understand how something works, and is built, I can make another one from scratch pretty quickly. Even from just dirt with a little transmutation. Let me have a look at some of these planes and some blueprints and a little time and I'm sure I can make some new ones. Worst case scenario-I make a bunch of old simpler models.

They're everything airships aren't- fast, maneuverable, and hard to hit. The only problem is with the disappearance of what is believed to be the last Great Sage, a good chunk or our most powerful magics are lost, given that the only records we've found are written in symbols. Including the means of duplication- meaning we have no way to bulk up the amount of planes we have, given their incredibly over complicated mechanisms- so I ask you if you know of any such magic?

Emily shrugs

To duplicate out of thin air, no. But again, if I could get a look at one plane, take it apart and examine it, I can build new ones out of just about any material. Here' let me show you an example.

She takes out a simple Silver pocket watch, and set's it down. She set's down a small bag of metal next to it, and snaps a finger- turning it into an identical pocket watch

I don't need to understand how it works completely, but I need to know how it's built and out of what. Give me a few hours to maybe a day and I'll have the planes figured out. In that time, Veera can bring up recruits to fly them.
