We got plenty of horrifying beasts of our own. Besides. Who said we were leaving by ship? Anyone try to follow us we might kill the hostages.

The men quickly round up some hostages, loot some treasure and quickly begin leaving by land into forests and hills to the northeast. Veera watches them leave as she nods to the governor who she brought with her and the others

Well, This was a fun feast. For some money I might be willing to help rescue your guests governor. Although, you could just rely on the goodwill of Jack and Tom if you feel cheap.

I have a plan. I have some artifacts the natives would like. So we spike a bunch of rum with some sort of sleeping draught, then pay the natives to gift the rum to our target. We station musketeers and men with some small swivel guns in the forest, in case things go south. If things go according to plan, we slip in while they're sleeping, kill them all, and release the hostages.

Veera shrugs as she quickly makes a deal with the governor

Well since I'm getting paid to help, I'll offer my advice.

Considering that these folks went inland, I think it's safe to say that they are either natives themselves, or at least on good terms with them. If they were completely foreign to the natives, I doubt they could just walk into the forests and hills without ticking them off. We could go and offer them gold for the hostages, then once we get them to safety, come back to kill them and take back the payment. We should at least go to their camp or home or whatever place they be staying in saying we came to negotiate. While there, we can count their numbers, their buildings and other defenses maybe also find where the hostages are being kept. Last thing we want is to go storming their home and wind up finding a clan of giants, or demons.

Well if you want to come with, I can lead the way. Might want to decide what to do with your lover though. I don't intend to babysit or protect anyone who comes along. Not without payment anyway. So you and her need to decide if she comes along, or stays with the governor here.

Probably for the best. If they recognize you, they might decide to just snatch you up if you came. That saves me the trouble of disguising you. Still, should probably make sure you and the governor stay safe. You should go to the tavern with Burt. It has guards and is pretty safe.
