Agnar looks at the young captain

Caution? Now let's hypothetically say that this damage was a purpose, my crew unwounded and all armed to the teeth... And a group of armed men came to the ship?

Be glad I don't play such dirty tricks.

Carl looks to Jack and waves at him.

Heya Jack. These fellas ain't here to cause trouble, poor blokes got hit by a nasty storm and needed help. Your men probably let them in because they realized they weren't a threat with their busted ship and worn out crew. So no need to get upset mate.

And even if these men were in fine health and well armed, we outnumber them greatly, and Emily has defenses set up. Would still be foolish for them to try to do such a trick.

Agnar laughs friendly towards Carl
Guess you haven't seen Norsemen fight. We got a saying...

Even if it's 3 to 1, it's still an uneven fight for them. Now, I do not know which sort of defences Emily has set up, but yes. I can assure ya'll that I don't come to cause trouble.

The young captain shakes his head

Well, you'd be brutally killed by the 2,000 plus bloodthirsty pirates on this island, your ship would be burned and sold for scrap, and if the lookout actually payed attention you'd have never reached the harbor. You'd have been sunk.

Jack looks to carl angrily

I'm ticked because the lookout failed to do his duty! He'll get fourty lashes and someone will take his place.

Carl casually points to a golem to Agnar.

Well for starters we got these stone golems Emily made. Not exactly easy to kill something made of stone that can kill a man in one hit. And what she keeps in her cavern is even worse then them. Though if I went blabbing about what all she has she'd be mighty miffed at me. And its generally a bad idea to get on the bad side of a witch.

Carl nods to Jack.

Fair enough. You can do what you like with your men if you feel they deserve it. Emily certainly won't care. So long as we leave her be in her cave I don't think she really minds what we do period.

Agnar shrugs
Guess you're right.
But have me excused, I'll be working on some of the most critical damages on my ship.
Agnar turns around and boards his ship

The accused is brought forward, he is tied to a nearby dock pole and flogged, a bosun wielding the cat o nine. After it's done, the man is dragged away. Jack looks to the construction.

As Agnar is repairing a hole in the hull, one of his crewmembers walks up and ask why he didn't speak up for the lookout
Agnar, why didn't you speak out for the lookout ?

Agnar thinks for a few moments
Well... Their culture is different, and with the mistrust they've showed us so far, we should walk with caution.

Agnar is still repairing the hole
From North. Long way up north. For example, we wouldn't have given him 40 lashes for that... We base our punishment on damage done and potential damage... For that one, we'd probably just have cut his wage in half for a week.
