However. I have been contacted by the Arch-Kraken. They are willing to donate Daisy and Marvin Kracken for the duration of the Draft to offer their thoughts and comments. This sounds generous but I had to bargain hard for the Kracken to actually take them back at the end of the contest. I expect to be suitably compensated for the costs involved. The Arch-Kraken suggested that the losing team should donate a reasonable decent SotL to me. I tend to agree. No. I havent made that up! He really did suggest it!

So. The commentary shall be entitled 'Way cool!' and 'Ew, Gross!'. It is hoped this will appease the younger elements of the playerbase. Daisy and Marvin can not be bribed and their opinion is final. Almost. You know. It depends. Daisy does like bows and Marvin just wants folk to understand how hard it is to be ignored by Daisy.

Thank-you.

1. Dread Danik
2. Admiral Nelson
3. El Draque
4. Clockwork
5. Getsum

Alternatively, we could have a Runners-Up Draft.

I like the list.

Since you are looking for ideas, here are some points to consider.

Captains choosing:
=================
At this order:
-Captain of the team who won the last draft winner picks 1 captain.
-Shadowood ( Draft Admin ) picks 1 captain.
-Top 3 draftees select 1 captain each.
-If a player fulfilled more than one categories above, he gets to choose more than 1 captain.

To keep it an open club, none can be named if he was a captain at any of the last 2 drafts.

Another drafting way:
==================

The classic way has to be retained. Occasionally, we could try special drafting rules. Here is one (feel free to customize):

1) All captains choose their team and send it to the Draft Admin. The draft admin, once he receives all 5 teams, publishes them.

2) All players who have been picked more than once, are removed from the teams and they earn points for the position where they have been picked. This is their worth price on points ( price tag ).

The points are in reverse of their position versus the total team number. At a team of 10 players, 1st gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9 points and 10th gets 1 point.

The points are added for every team. So, for example, if a team has picked Shadowood 1st and another has picked him as 2nd, Shadowood will be removed from both teams with 10 + 9 = 19 points.

3) At next step, the total points of all players who were removed, is calculated and divided by 5. This is the purchasing power of every team Captain.

The captains will now need to complete their teams once again. This time they have rules:
A) They cannot pick those already in teams ( if any, some might not be duals).
B) They must pick 10 different ( or whichever the total number you decided is in order to have a full team).
C) They can pick anyone from those removed by covering their cost. They cannot get anyone if the combimed cost of the selected is above their purchasing power.
D) They can still pick for free anyone still not in the Draft.
E) Any unspent points are retained to the captains purse.

Once the captain make their choices, they again send their list to the Draft Admin.

4) This stage us similar to #2. The draft admin ensures the list is error free and publishes it.

Duals/triples/etc are removed in the same manner although that any points are added on top of the last sum. Position still is scored with 10 points for first pick. Umselected players with a price tag remain but their pruce is reduced by 1 ( min price is 0 ).

The cycle continues till all teams are complete. Assembled teams are then given to the community to vote.

There is also room to tweak the purchasing power of every captain. Instead of totalling the sum of points at the table and dividing by 5, the captains could get the equivalent of points that their choices got on their own team multiplied by the number of round choices.

So, if someone picks Shadowood 1st, Deznutz 2nd and Meliva 4th and these are later found duplicates, then his purchasing power will be 10 × number of Shadowood duplicates + 9 * number of Dez duplicates + 7 * Meliva duplicates. If we suppose that each had 2 duplicates, the captain purchasing power will be 10 * 2 + 9 *2 + 7*2 = 52

Both methods are interesting but I feel that the second method will be more rewarding for the good players that watch the captains battle for their snatching.

I also feel that this way will be also instructive for the newcomers which will be called to vote later.

It also requires trust at the Draft Admin not to leak the lists to other captains that have not yet sent their list. Any ideas to overcome this would be good although I believe we are good for now.

Very interesting ides CJ. Thanks for the feed back.

For awhile now I have toyed with the idea of a “paid” draft. Where captains have a certain amount draft money. I would assign player prices based off historical draft picks to be fair. I would of course publish these prices and rules well before the draft, but i have played many NFL drafts with this style of drafting and it’s always interesting who you end up with.

Due to Real Life time constraints, my activity level has tapered off quite a bit recently. Unfortunately I will need to delay/postpone this draft for a bit so I can reevaluate when I may have time to run it properly.

My apologies, but hopefully I will have an answer for all those that enjoy the draft soon.

For those few that donated to the draft already, I will issue a refund until the draft can proceed. Thank you for your support.

Any questions or concerns please PM me.
