The Worst

Maybe there should be a thread for the worst battles of all time. I had a vodoo card played on me that doubled my ship repair costs.

I was a good boy and waited a full 24 hours without attacking anyone.

I was so frustrated by the end, I took my 142 turns and started plundering with a weak fleet. I took out a couple of player fleets and had my danger up to 14. Then I started on the NPC's. Unfortunately, I got a pirate hunter right away.

For strategic reasons, I wanted to hunt at that port so I took him on. Damned if I didn't spent all 142 turns, all my treasure on repairs, lost a ship level, and had to use my prized danger reduction card--and I never beat the Pirate Hunter!!! The damn ******, I kept thinking this is the last ship. I would sink it after countless repairs, and then another would pop up. I kept knowing I was throwing good money after bad, but the devil in my ear said, "you can't waste all you've spent!"

I never did get him and I blew another day recovering.
