About Us

We are a pirate guild. We plunder, we skirmish, we hunt, and we raid. We seek an endless flow of coins, battles, and rum!

New players and old are welcome to join our ranks and partake in the thrill of the hunt. There is no intention for [BLACK] to grow rapidly or ever become a large guild. We will be keeping our size down to less than 15 players at any given time. We will also train and mentor young pirates in how to be successful while also maintaining a level of respect for our adversaries. Three requirements must be met before your application can be approved and they are;

~ Requirements ~

1. Sail under the Black Flag

2. Sail 50 or fewer ships at all times

3. Keep to the code

Brief History

The Flying Gang was started by veteran privateers Henry Jennings, Samuel Bellamy, Charles Vane, Benjamin Hornigold and many others. These pirates would take their wealth and Hornigold and fellow pirate Thomas Barrow established a new government within Nassau and set to work building a legitimate pirate republic.

The Flying Gang started the careers of men like Edward 'Blackbeard' Teach who was on Hornigold's crew before he assumed captaincy in his own right. It also started the careers of Edward England and eventually grew to include many other pirates including Olivier Levasseur and many more. The Flying Gang was one of the most influential groups of pirates alongside the Brethren of the Coast and one of the most powerful in the entire Golden Age of Piracy. In fact at one point the British were legitimately worried about the pirates establishing their own breakaway civilization in the West Indies that would threaten the colonial power structure.

2. Must have 50 or fewer ships at all times

This is important. My opinion. You aren't a pirate if you don't do this.

I would set the cap at 20 since 50 is a bit privateerish. But, oh well.

The ones who advance and learn the trade will naturally reduce there ship count. 50 is important for new pirates starting out. 35 - 50 ships is where NPC's will generate solid plunder for them which in turn allows them to buy credits and build a voodoo chest for when the real plunder arrives.

I won't be holding their hands and handing out raids to get them going, they are going to learn "how" to start and do it for themselves. This is an important learning step.

Previously I mentioned Avonmora burning. As the hits continue on the UK and no one wishes to step forward with sound information regarding the attackers, I am going to formally announce a state of Anarchy. PIRAT will sweep through guilds one by one causing damage and mayhem to any and all we do not trust or know. Their will be innocents harmed and much lost by several. This will continue until the attackers are known. Your guild may be hit today, tomorrow, or in a week. If no one comes to me with what I want to know, nations will be next.

I recommend you all question your neighbor, friends, and would be leaders. For their secrecy may cost you a great deal of hard work getting to where you are now. Know that you've been given a choice.
