Greetings and Salutations once again me hearties, fine scallies and wenches!! Hope your sails have stayed trimmed and your vessels on course since last edition.

Here at MIAB we like to mix it up a little - Issue #8 if choc-full of William One Eye and his Tales of Avonmora - a great historical read about some of the fun and wondrous shenanigans of the past!! We have a little of the regular articles of course but kept it to a minimum because.. overwhelm. lol

As Daniks historical account of OPG generated a fair bit of interest and feedback chatter we decided on bringing the good folk of Avonmora more of the same only different. Thus, our William One Eye special Edition #8. ( While he is our Meet the Crew Guest) he also holds the record longest interview!!!!) A few ales and he loves to chat.

We originally titled his article 'An evening with William One Eye" as we have done with other sailors here.. but WOE more than delivered and thus the title 'WilliamOneEye - The Novella" :o:
Hope you all enjoy as much as we did when we did the interview at ye ol hair of the frog tavern in Tzogos.. He invited MIAB there and I'm not sure if he has shares in the place but we take you there too .
MIAB recommends all players visit The Hair o' the Frog in Tzogos at least once in their piratey lifetime!

In other news, around the time of the last edition, Clockwork, Phantom Harlock and xPro were going hard at it hammer and tongs.

Both must have headed to distant shores to heal and regather. We did not see nor hear of either of them until recently when xPro sailed back into Avonmora waving enthusiastically at all his old seafaring mates, most of whom waved back, some however felt a familiar and spine tingling chill run up and down their .. well .. spine.

Everyone knows when xPro is around exciting things can happen.

King xPro, ruler of USVI announced he would be building up to a large and admirable fleet and that he is once again, 'a peaceful trader'. The citizens of USVI filled the streets and cheered for the return of their king. He promises all his citizens great wealth and success.

A wild week of celebrations ensued, the king attending momentarily to wave to the partying crowd below his balconies - The people only too aware while they rejoiced that every moment their king is working to do better be better have better make better - All hail the king! What a party, Vaasburg history where all decency and morals were not only .. sorry .. I digress. (it's a family friendly paper after all)!

Meanwhile we hear the Phantom Harlock, with only a few fleets left to his name, is busy taking note of the famous sea-hags' pre-battle prattle strategy
of nap, snack, nap and more napping, no doubt swotting for some battle he will have in the future. We loook forward to his return to our waters and his mischief .. well, some of it .. sometimes ..
Good luck with the new strategy, Phantom!Welcome back xPro and good luck in your endeavours whatever they may be! :P

Meliva and Lolita kept us entertained this last weekend with a merry dance. Lots of hugs and kisses between rounds - I'm confused - but anyhow.... Image

The underdog (Lolita) surprised all as she went rogue from the feared Pirate Nelson's direction and initial instruction. (Arrgh there be a pirate in the making!)

Thank you feisty wenches both for the laughs but more so for getting out there and having a crack all in the name of fun . We are still waiting on final figures. Look forward to a bigger battle in answer to a challenge delivered to Meliva, Lolita and this humble reporter!!
( The 3 v 1. Lolita politely declined saying she is rebuilding, counting her losses and licking her wounds.. Stay tuned.)

( Apologies to Feniks, Shadowood, Mack and Scraps - neither jello nor pillow fights were available for this event!)

We would like to wish the new players all the best, in particular Miz, hitting the boards with heart, and welcome also to StrayKid to our shores. ItsMetheRed and and John Pierpont Morgan too getting around.

Salty Captain Shorts from USVI getting into the swing of things and built a hideout at last as has xxSKORNxx, Delania, Asteria, Per Diem, Buck Fiden and Eelizidor (PGs very own yaksha).A number of new plantations have started up along with plenty of workshops across the map. So things are looking good. Plenty of building around the place...

Even the vets getting in on the workshops with Wiliam Pitt opening one in Gasp! King Stan is reportedly pleased to see Gasp having a wee growth spurt. It is always good to see new players. Remember to give a shout in the forums and say AHOY. You will find plenty of help available - even our salty vets love to lend a hand.
And 'ahoy - we see you" to some long thought of dead scallywags too. Welcome back - we, you know who you are!! Welcome back to Brian the Broker and MssMurderess - Happy Sailing to you!! the ghost of Nixer scores a1000 Total battles altho tbh, this pirate , reporter would have thought that happened some time ago .. hmm.

Must make mention here of Edward Teach latest achievement too ... 25,000 Battles Won! Extraordinary pirating there Teach - well done. Word came to MIAB that the mighty Edward Teach underwent so much back slapping and good will and on top of that was bought so many celebratory beverages at the tavern, the barkeep deemed it necessary to book him a room upstairs in the broth .. sleeping chambers Image .. He stayed until he recovered as was incapable of leaving the premises under his own steam.
Good on you. ED! :P

As usual we had to ink up the CONGRATS CDV stamp a few times since our last publish. From Oman, to Ecuador, from Burkina Faso to Gabon and Guinea , finally landing in Laos on Day 3600 and taking the crown the very next day. He cannot hide from the bevy of beauties who chase him for the size of his fleets on the horizon are fair warning enough he is on his way...

Although Avonmora has been quiet of late, there are still some shenanigans happening in the shadows. Dragon Bones found herself fighting a bunch of mad pirates, lost some ships in the process but managed to achieve 5000k Total Battles during the fiasco ..

MIAB inquired as to whether she had any comment When asked how she is doing and what happened DB replied:

"Pretty much same affair as last time, lost all my war fleets apart from 2 and trading fleets decimated. Slowly building from scratch again. Spending less and less time playing if i'm honest, the game isn't the same as it was. To few players most of which are too OP. I think many of them live the game with their petty hang ups and personal grudges, forgetting that it is a game.

The guild are a good bunch and that's what keeps me coming back. Sorry to be so negative. happy sailing DB"

Editors Note: As far as I know many of us have felt the same.. determined to log off and never return ... However, it is indeed those guild-mates and friends we make here that keep us coming back.. We all have them. And we salute you! Barrels of rum to all.
