Ahoy,

We have started preparing what is needed for the players to assist more meaningfully in game development.

We are looking to completely surrender Game Development to the players. The first move for a more structured way to do this, was with these forums, which were started in June.

The second move, is the assembly of the Player Dev Team. We already have an idea who will consist this team but new applicants may arise. A special forums group will be created for all you participating in this team.

The team will use this thread as well as all the open forums to prepare the next features for the game. Everything will be in public and all players will be able to participate. The team however, will have the ability to edit and take initiatives that the other players will not be able to do.

The third move, will be to choose the leaders of the Player Dev Team. This will come naturally from the involvement of the players in this Player Dev Team. Once we got 3 leaders, we will be able to proceed to the next step, where we will limit ourselves into coding role and the whole development will be undertaken by the player dev team.

The first task of the development team, is to help up with existing ideas in Game Discussion, Game Suggestions, Law and Voodoo suggestions.

What is not described,is about priorities. We will open a priorities discussion topic where we will take final decisions on how this will work at the initial phase. After all, this is the number 2 task that will have to be done and having a structured way to do this, will help immensely.

Team size will be up to 10 players. As I write these lines, I already have 3 approved applicants which can be regarded as team members already. These applicants have already given a short interview and are waiting for the starting signal.

The important element that has to be underlined is that there will be a tough early period. Working with the existing ideas is not exactly the most exciting thing to do. However, once this task is over, the next are going to be far more interesting.

What needs to also be said, is that through the early team members, we will be picking the players who will assume the leading roles that we need, in order to ensure that this team will succeed. Once the leaders (around 3) are picked, they will be able to recruit more into the team and also take more important decisions about the game, as I written above.
