Withdrawal funds from banks closed due to inactivity.

We are always looking for ways to improve the game. In fact, since the beginning player suggestions had played a major part in game design.

We read all suggestions.

maybe once players build a bank they should be required to write down 5 players in order of whom the bank should go to in case of inactivity. I guess you should be able to operate multiple banks in this case.

Closed banks due to player inactivity foreclosed upon by Pirates Glory Federal Banking Commission. They are the one who granted opening of the bank initially. New deposits and all bank activity ceased with exception of withdrawal of funds by prior account holders. Rename those banks Pirates Glory Federal Banking Commission Holding.

Is the inability to retrieve funds when a bank closes due to inactivity or the Owner going pirate not part of the risk of using what is otherwise the safest way to store gold?
If you remove that risk then the only remaining one is the banker closing up shop or freezing accounts without warning, as banking is built on reputation this is unlikely without cause. Therefore give players the ability to recover funds from these banks and there is no longer any risk to banking your gold.

Also when players go inactive they tend to sell up and store their gold in a bank, that way when they do return they have gold and can get set back up quickly. Depends how long there gone for though as I'm sure there is a version of what you already mention, it seems that accounts tagged as Inactive in the banking screen steadily decrease in gold at a small % per day while the account is flagged, eventually they would run dry just takes time.

I decided to build a bank, that way I am insulated from future losses.

So why only the customer are at risk? Banks should experience real risk also, such as the desperate bank fee drained pirate making a hit on them. These banks are thieves, nothing but fee grabbers, with those new motorized ATM contraptions. Bank ATM huh! Automatic Thief Machine!

revisiting this topic. we all still have the risk of losing our deposits to banks closing due to player inactivity. is there really no recourse? what about a holding bank? or a pirates glory deposit insurance company that levies fees based on bank deposit amount?

Here's a thought....

Perhaps if a bank goes pirate, or inactive, a new treasure hunt feature can be used to extract funds. Once the bank is empty, the bank totally collapsed, and the former banker would need to start bank building from scratch.

Another option would be to have the former bankers' vaults emptied and stolen from former employees, thus they are loose on the high seas hidden in NPC treasure fleets....ripe for plunder.

who are you making these suggestions to? the single developer who can barely keep the ancient code base running on EOL'd equipment in his bedroom closet? You do understand that the moment game income < the cost of the electricity to run the servers, PG will no longer exist, right? Or the RAID array dies, and no one sells those seagate ide drives anymore.

There aren't going to be any new features. Suggestions forum needs to be graved.

I don't think there would be a suggestions thread created by admin if they weren't welcome to suggestions. admin can and will close forums if they see fit. these not demands, and we all understand that this may or may not happen. i have no idea what equipment he's running, or how much he pays for electricity. the fact that this game has lasted this long, without ads, is a feat in itself. regarding new features, admin has been cranking them out steadily throughout the life of the game. not going to list the changes here, but PG is not the same as it was 10 or even 2 years ago.
