viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3829I spent a lot of time on republic of pirates, its somewhat historically correct and i got a lot of input from pirate players that were active at the time i put it together.
This was worked to fit closely to the existing nation structure,
So that it would not have to be a completly new design.
I think pirate held ports sould have some sort of function,
That benefits pirates, and possibly merchants that are willing to do buisness in pirates / pirate ports.
If a 3rd rework is in order, i would happily put some more time into it.
It could probably be better if it had its own independent design,
But i worry, to many big development projects are already on the table, i would prefer to see this as an easy implementation by making adjustments to an existing framework, so that itt actually happens in the near future and does not disrupt larger more important game additions,
I think it should be approached with 3 possible development routes.
1 Very stripped down basic addition for a pirates nation.
With choice of independant pirate (current path), or ability to join a pirate faction or possibly factions if desired.
Some basic perks of belonging to a faction, and some small benefits if a port is held by a faction.
Probably its own design different than nations, but basically small enough to be a quick implementation.
2 basically a pirate based copy of our current nation system.
Hopefully implementable without to long a wait or causing to much delay of anything else.
( this was the intent of the republic of pirares idea)
3 totally unique, full featured and highy tailored for pirates add on to be implemented way down the road.
