The treaties created with nations that have no king or queen are harmless - and have no true value except for a line on a national diplomacy list.

A single king or queen who takes over the nation can easily nullify the treaty with laws or let it be; peace treaties only have teeth if there are hostility laws, so if a nation wishes to collect treaties at this time, let them do it!

When additional diplomatic features and functions arrive, those treaties may bear much more of a burden than they currently bear, or not.

Besides, while it may be a simple line of code to remedy, there are many other tweaks and features the devs are working on that are worth more to PG.

I say let them collect them - there be more pressing business worth our efforts.

SHM is correct. The treaty does nothing without Hostility Laws. However, in reality, a treaty is an agreement between more than one party. In the instances provide, there is only one party to the treaty. The initiating party is making a treaty with no one. The treaty should fail as there is no one on the receiving end to confirm it and respond. Treaties shouldn't auto-succeed.

Nations Diplomacy manual

Code: Select all
Special Rules
-When offering Neutral stance or Cease Fire, if the offered country has no votes registered, this will count as an approval.
This means that countries without any human players, will always accept Cease Fire and No Relationship treaties.

Are we sure that this Peace Treaty was registered without consent? Peace treaties should always need votes. So if this is true, then it is indeed a bug that needs to be fixed. It should be easy to fix too.

CJ you can look at cocos Island and Fiji’s treaty
In fact most of Fiji’s treaties seem to be that same way. Cook island has not had an active player for 150 days and somehow they are in a peace treaty
