Feared throughout Avonmora for its vicious attacks on ports and vessels it has a name for itself,a name no one will dare change,The Kraken.

What is the Kraken

The Kraken has been with us for many years or so legend claims. The Kraken is a legendary sea monster with a bad reputation in many ports but it's reputation with pirates is rather good. The Kraken has clout the port of Tortuga,Tzogos,Regis and Vaasburg more than any other.

Why is it famous

At an ancient wilderness in the hills of Central Avonmora we were told

The Kraken is called "The Pirate King" by many pirates. The Illustrious (and self-appointed) King of the Seven Seas!
Kraken is a legendary tentacled monster that ate whales and even ships. They also found bones from the animal's prey arranged in strange patterns. Our discoveries have revived claims about the mythical creature's existence.
As the story goes, the mythical Kraken was an ancient tentacled sea monster that ate whales and devoured entire ships. Aliyah Porter(a novelist) made several claims regarding the Kraken, including the notion that the creature was sometimes mistaken for an island and that the real danger to sailors was not the creature itself but rather the whirlpool left in its wake. However, she also described the destructive potential of the giant beast: "it is said that if [the creature's arms were to lay hold of the largest man-of-war, they would pull it down to the bottom".

The Kraken and Davy Jones

It is rumored that the mysterious Kraken works for Davy Jones and will rip apart any vessel at any given time once summoned by Captain Davy Jones. It is said that for a fee of 500,000 gc - 10,000,000 gc you can hire Davy Jones to set the Kraken lose on any trader or port. It is feared in Avonmora ports and will forever continue to be feared.

The Kraken attacks anyone marked with the Black Spot, which is delivered to its victims by Flying Dutchman crewmen and can only be removed by its captain, Davy Jones.First sighting was in Aiora.

Now,over the years many pirates, traders and those in between have fallen victim to the mysterious beast,The Kraken. Here's a list of where the Kraken has struck most and who it has struck most.*
*The list is not in any specific order

Famous Attacks on Ports

Tortuga
Aiora
Tzogos
Vaasburg
Regis

Persons who escaped

Captain Da Vinci
Damn the Torpedos
Jim Hawkins
Pirate Roberts
Ben Scartlett
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Yes!Very little have faced the Kraken, but even fewer have lived to tell the tale. The Kraken lurks in the Ocean of Avonmora and is by far the most dangerous creature roaming the seas. When the Kraken strikes it is rumoured that death flashes before your eyes...well for the ones who are not dead . The Kraken lurks silently in the depths of the ocean awaiting its next unfortunate victim.
.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Many persons and/or ports have lost hundreds of thousand and some even millions to the dreaded Kraken. Will this beast stop tormenting us?Why did it choose to terrorize some individuals more than some?Where is it NOW?How many lives has it claimed already? My fellow readers,we always leave you baffled but this is not a mystery that can be solved (or so they want us to think). But on your ugliest pair of shorts jump on your Mexican donkey and set sail over the Spanish horizon,an adventurer awaits those who have the courage, determination and will to explore the seas of Avonmora.

"The Kraken is no ordinary creature, fear it more than one fears his life"
Heave ho!

I am most upset at this typical stereotyped description of the Kraken : krakens are cute, lovable and playful creatures : what silly humans see as a bone-crushing assault on their vessels is in fact no more than these warm-hearted critters seeking cuddles and affection! Its not an attack its a hug! Okay, maybe they are not the best at controlling their many limbs, but lets face it, few humans can manage two legs, try managing 8 and then complain!

I agree with every word they are extremly cute creatures. Everyone run from them and noone wants to meet them and that hurts.

I must say, I also find the Kraken to be delightful creatures - I like them best sauteed in a butter and rum sauce.
Kraken Fricasee is also a delight....
