Appointments and Promotions

Bermudans continue to race up the ranks!

  • That most noble lady Isabelle (#53069) has reached the dignity of Duke and been admitted to the Council of Bermuda in a fabulous ceremony held yesterday.
  • Former King of Bosnia & Herzovina, Wolfie (#52826), continues his rapid climb, now being granted a Colonelcy.
  • Jon303 (#53189) is now a Captain.

To quote an informant high-placed within The Court "It couldn't happen to nicer chaps!"

Meanwhile former SSTG member Magnarok (#52752) has joined the baffingly named Just A Silly Pirate Game guild. In doing this he has raised the ASPG's guild rating considerably. Will he soon be shedding the Bermudan flag and raising the Skull and Crossbones? Who knows? But remember - Read it here first!

The newly-formed Bank of Bermuda is growing! It is now rated Level 2 and is able to house deposits of up to 5m Gold Coins.

And just as well! An allegedly well-informed correspondent tells us the the vaults were at bursting point! Despite its name, the Bank accepts deposits from all nations (and it is rumoured, even from Pirates). How long until the vaults are full again? Who knows? But remember - Read it here first!

Breaking Shipping News

The Word in the Tavern is that an announcement is imminent on the implementation of the Ships Market and the establishment of Shipwrights.

The Market will come first, with the ability to improve shipbuilding speed by employing Shipwrights coming later.

How will this change the composition of Avonmora's fleets? Who knows? But remember - Read it here first!

Port News

It appears the former Governor of Kanoni Damn the Torpedoes (#40107) has been building up his influence in the port. Is Midway trying to make a come-back? Who knows? But remember - Read it here first!

Nice newspaper - Only problem is , I do not think it is to its full beneficial method, try a website developer online : Where you can develop websites without HTML sometimes : Such as Wix.com... That is how my newspaper is made : I can talk you through of making a blog and announce news etc...

I like the format you are using. It would worth experimenting with titles. While edition seems nifty for archiving perhaps you might catch more attention with alluring titles.

Like:
Bermudans on the Rise! 03 23secs ago in Somer Isles Oserver

Or perhaps adding your edition title too, like:
Somer Isles Observer #2 - Bermudans on the Rise!

If it can fit in one line, it could be cooler. Or else on shorter:
SIO #2 - Bermudans on the Rise!

Just ideas :D Feel free to forge your own path. Nice to see releases coming out. Judging from the PMs I got in light of Avonmora Herals pause, PMs that wanted it back, news feeds are of great interest for a majority of the playerbase.

Btw, I could turn HTML on, selectively for authors of the newspapers, if you want to use it.

(Also, I increased the limitations on attachments, 5 per post at 75KB per attachment. Although it is still better to link to a free image provider)

Thanks for the offer, but I'm OK on how to blog, etc. I've also used Wix in the past and would also recommend it.

As an aside - I find your paper/blog a little difficult to read at times - the background and the text clashing. It's prob down to my age!

CJ -

Turning on more HTML options would be great, thanks. Unlike Roberts I remember when doing your own coding was the only way possible! :ugeek:

Yes, I might run individual stories as separate posts. I wanted to get the feel of a 'proper' newspaper with several stories in it first.
