Year and Day Law Abolished in Spanish Ports
The citizens of Spain today celebrated the approval of what is being described as a *change for the greater good of their lives.* The *Year and a Day Law* which only allowed;as approval: that,*A person can only be charged with murder if if the victim dies within a year and a day of receiving his/her injuries.*
As a formal announcement was made by the Head of Parliament,Hernandes de Magellan,thus confirming the abolishing of the law,the towns across Avonmora were rocked by cheers from the assembly outside the ~Curia Regis~.

Celebrations in Chalkos
Following the announcement of the law (above) being abolished the citizens of Chalkos began to celebrate. The doors of many massive warehouse were open to the public the rum going for free! A total of some 50 Million barrel of rum were removed from the warehouses by the huge crowds. As celebrations late into tonight are expected,employers and employers can be seen staggering home( I think).
It is reported that 1000s of ships docked in port waiting to be unloaded of their RUM cargo but everyone is drunk...an estimated 15,000 barrels is said to be left in port.

Crucial Criminal Crackdown
In our article yesterday we stated that authorities were determine to crackdown on the Black Market. Here is the follow up story........:
The Egyptian Minister of National Security,Rasna-al-Ashwiz,has vowed that a major crackdown on criminals will be launched this week as efforts are increasing to make Avonmora ports safer.
*This is the year that good people must come together to fight the criminals. The criminals have a network and it takes a network to defeat a network,so the good citizens who see,hear and know things must speak up,* Al-Ashwiz told the Sunday Evening Post on Thursday.
These comments were made by the minister following raids on Egyptian shipping by both pirates and land based criminals,who,by the reports of local citizens , is said to run an underground smuggling operation linked to the *Black Market*.

Blockade in St.Martins
The blockade in St.Martins by a band of pirates,headed by one Charles Vane is still up and running. 100s of battles have taken place in the port and many traders are steering clear of the waters in the vicinity infested with these vicious pirates. Up until news time today traders were still pelting their resources and trading on the main market. How long will the blockade last? How long can they keep the port? Can they defend it from traders taking over?
