I've noticed that a new player who wasn't active since over 7 days ago suddenly had 47 mil gold on hand. A cpl of hrs later it was down to 7 mil without the player were listed as active. I wonder how this is possible?

Was this noticed in your bank account logs through your bank?

If so I do know bank transfers do not affect the activity timer shown there. Only deposits and withdrawls do.

Bank transfers will not go to your gold on hand but to the bank account. Anyways I got an explanation from a reliable source so Im satisfied :)

This is obviously not a bug but a player related action. Most probably through the usage of Send Payment and booty master.

Such seems like a tactic to artificially increase bank storage. As per banking internal rules:

Code: Select all
The ownership of a bank, provides you with some exceptional tools that can be used to promote cheating or exploitation. In case you are found to conceal or promote or even conduct cheating, the bank will be removed without notice and more penalties might be issued. Make sure you keep all your dealings transparent and within the game limits and rules.

The way to artificially increase bank storage issue has been known to us for a long time. It is why we proposed some extra regulations (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1601 ) which however have not been implemented.

It is our stable policy not to create excessive ruling just because some playsers find a way to exploit the game. We prefer to issue bans.

Therefore, please send us the character ID through Private Message so we can investigate the issue and issue penalties where needed. Perhaps a bank may close permanently due to this.

Thankfully, It wasn't a cheating case after all. I want however for all bankers to read the post above and make sure that they avoid this tactic in a way to artificially increase storage.

We will pass some of the proposed regulations to ensure auto-fix but it is in violation of the rules to do it in first place. Anything that you do in the game to contradict a game mechanism (go round it) is considered as an expoitation (ie going round the dnager system) and is not allowed as a result.

It wasn't via a bank Jack... It was Via a nation treasury : To a player, so that they could booty master him... In one aspect this could be cheating ya know ;)

I know of the case in question : the player was a citizen of a nation currently in strife due to squatters seeking to steal its treasury. As has been mentioned previously in threads about Nations : there is no way to keep them out : there is no way to remove them once in : there is no way to stop them gaining rank : there is no way to stop them attacking existing citizens, both via plunder and via influence loss and thus gaining influence majority : there is no way to prevent them stealing the crown : there is no way to stop them stealing the Treasury : there is no way to stop them monitoring legitimate pay-outs and grouping to then BM/raid the player in question (as has already happened before this case) at least, none that are open, honest and truly ethical. C'est la vie, those previous warnings were judged of no concern and matters were not changed.

The existing leadership decided, as they did not wish these infiltrators to loot significant sums, to give away the funds to existing citizens : Alas, the 3 day voting structure has meant the villians had time to get in, rank-up and gain the voting majority to stop them. However, this one slipped thru.

I see no reason to consider the giving away of a nations funds by its leadership to whoever bothers to pick it up as 'wrong', especially when they are left almost powerless to stop any group of scurvy scoundrels from seeking to steal it anyway, which under existing rules and conditions such means of theft has to be considered as 'right'. I see no 'wrong' in a nation sending payments to an inactive citizen that then allow any to benefit when infiltrating thieves can do the same act (know when to Booty-master) to any Nation pay-out recipient and its 'war' not 'wrong'.
