I like the half plunder costs suggested by Haron. I would say 2 turns plunder, 1 turn skirmish.



Alternatively....

HNs and FFJs have 100% piercing for the day.

Maybe halve danger gain from plundering, and halve danger loss?

Some good ideas so far.

Pirate auto-win : every hit is a win with 500% increase in plunder gained and all the targets ships are sunk and it only costs one turn to raise them!

Did I mention that only pirates are allowed to use turns on that day?

Oh, and they win.

The 90% of the player-base who are not pirates know their place.

To be honest, I don't see any suggestion that is not going to be complaint prone.

Yes, Traders are getting a free pass to trade during the server update without repercussion and while it is only a one time event, it is still a free pass to run ANY trade route.

And while it is only a one time pass for traders, the celebration of the event will be recurring, thus the reward given cannot be OP.

Plantations profits won't be effected either as they are safe, well for the time being....


I think the only way to go forward would be to effectively freeze almost everything, if possible. No fleet movements, no trade routes, no fishing, no plantations running, no skirmishes, no pve or pvp plunder. All other activities would still be valid. Thus making everyone have a fair share in the pause.

Then as a reward, every active player gets an additional 144 turns (That's 1 day of turns based on normal rates) added to their turn storage that day to celebrate.

And exhibition battles

On this day you can elect to place danger on selected fleets that belong to you, to place them on a plunder board in their current port.
They can be added or removed at any time during the event.
The danger will not increase or drop via battle.
Battles will not result in gc or fame gain or loss.
Battle reports will generate as a normal battle.
Ship damage and level loss will restore to pre battle level after every battle.
If you are in a crowded port and are not showing on the plunderboard. 1 credit will raise your danger 1 point,
The more you invest the higher your danger.
This is essentially buying your position on the plunder board.
If you want to be at the top, or if you are in a crowded port and just want to show up. Since you cannot see your own position you may need to ask a freind what your position is, or if you are showing up in a crowded port.
This might be important if someone is trying to find you for a planned fight.
You may also attack your guildmates during the event.
Attacking will yeild no hostillity or honor points.

Basically you can show off any fleet or fleets you wish.
And fight anyone with no fear of losing or damaging favorite ship or fleet.

At the end of the event any danger added during the event is cleared.

Love this idea Will.

I would also like to say that while I love all ideas of really making those damn traders pay for the developers having to swap servers :y , no one mentioned NPC's. What if the day was focused on the prize fighting style event that Will suggested and for this one day, all NPC's swag bonuses are doubled/trippled to make up for non traders loss of revenue? Now that is double or triple before voodoo is cast :)

Maybe it could be less a f the traders day, and more of an f the server day :D

i like this if ship sinking chances are at least close to 50% of what they are normally
