Ahoy, Mateys! Welcome to 9th Edition of the Pirates Glory Fantasy Draft.

Without further ado, I present the Captains (in official randomly generated order):

RULES:
The draft rules have been set as below:

A Total of 10 Rounds.

A Captain must select at least one (1) rookie on their team during the 10 rounds of play. If a rookie has not been selected by the 10th Round, the Captain must select a rookie during that round.

Players selected must have been active in the past 14 days. Proof of activity must be apparent.

Bribing of fantasy draft votes is strictly prohibited. Making accounts to add votes into the fantasy draft is also strictly prohibited.

Active is defined as more than just logging in logging out. Real activity in plunder/skirmishes and active routes must be obvious.

An eligible player must be running at least 10 ships. Special exceptions are made to those who run less, as long as they are not a witch doctor.

A player who is a witch doctor or consistently uses a griefing playstyle is ineligible for draft selection. A witch doctor, in general, is someone who runs little to no ships, casts only offensive voodoo, and makes no attempt to gain profit from the casting of said voodoo. Not all players who fall within the general definition of a witch doctor are actually witch doctors.

A determination will be made by the community administration, upon request of a Team Captain, if a selected player is ineligible.

Anyone, who is picked on a draft team and is caught accepting bribes for votes, shall lead to the removal of either: the team for the draft, or the player from said team. Said player will not receive payouts or donations. If a team is removed from the draft, prizes will be redistributed evenly across the remaining teams.

Rookie ID’s are active players who joined between day 3003 and day 3430.

This will be a SERPENTINE DRAFT. Meaning, 1 goes first through 5, but then 5 picks again and goes back to 1 then 1 picks again and goes back to 5. (1,2,3,4,5,5,4,3,2,1,1,2,3,4,5,5,4,3,2,1...)

An updated Team Listing will be provided upon completion of each round.

Upon completion of the draft picks, the captains will be required to write a BLURB about their team to be posted in the Voting Topic.

Certain players have elected to not participate in the Draft. These players cannot be selected by a Captain. A list of these players will be provided at the start of the draft.

For those that do not want to participate in the Draft, ie. do not want to be able to be picked on a team, you have until the day of the Draft to notify the Community Admin Team to place you on the ineligible list.

The draft will commence on Day 3459 (AAT) @ 00:00:01.

Captains and sailors of Avonmora, my first pick is a name many of you will recognize, and perhaps even fear. A man who's never lost anything larger than a frigate to another player, and an elite raider. I welcome aboard Pirate Nelson.

My first pick is an old sailor with a big heart. I welcome lodswe to my team.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

While the first round of the draft has seen 3 excellent picks so far, the 4th Captain has decided to go MIA. I have made several efforts to reach him and am even giving him the benefit of the doubt due to possible work/school conflict (I know it's school). As such, I am giving Cudeggs until game update tonight to make his pick. While I technically have given him enough time already, I'm giving him the benefit of doubt as it is now the end of the week.

If Cudeggs does not make a pick by Game Update that includes the ability check in regularly for the rest of the draft, effective at Game Update Cudeggs will be removed as the 4th Captain and HPWizard will officially be 4th Draft Captain and will make a pick.

As this issue has come about and as a means to ease future concerns, I have already confirmed with the 5th Captain the above. Any delays in his picks if any would be within what is considered reasonable daily game play (ie. Don't expect everyone to be on all the time).

Well, it looks like I have been made captain.

With my first pick, I select a king, a plantation tycoon, and one of the winningest sailors of the Pirates Glory seas -- EdwardTeach

Arriving in the port parched and in need of a crew I headed for the tavern as it would be the best place to handle both.
The huge tavern was crowded and noisy but one shot from the gonne at an untapped keg made the noisy tavern lose some volume and the ringing in my ears seemed to be the noisest culprit of the day.
After paying for the keg and explaining I was in need of a crew I was surrounded by volunteers.
Leaping on a table I peered in the back and noticing a well dressed sailor cutting a steak, uninterested in the commotion I had become.
Asking for a name led to a brief conversation and Lilone (#67367) agreed to be the first of my crew if I would disengage from conversation so she could finish her meal.
I readily agreed and began the scan for my next recruit.

As a note, you do not need to wait for the hosting official to declare the end of a round. If you have two consecutive picks, you can pick both in a single post or right after each other.

Turning to my right I noticed a table filled with untouched tankards, foam showing in every one.
As I watched, the waitress approached the table with a tray loaded with four drinks.
She handed one to the sailor, put 3 on the table with the other untouched tankards, received payment for one and headed back to the bar.
Intrigued, I went to inquire about all the untouched ale.
Hopping to the floor and approaching the table to the right, I asked if she needed help cleaning her table and relieving the strain on the taverns possible need for tankards.
I was quickly told to drink all I could handle they were from thirsty sailors who wished to ride on one of her many fleets for a night.
Looking around I noticed the table was indeed watched by a thirsty lot.
I decided not to help clean the table and avoid any of the thirsty sailors.
Instead I ordered an ale of my own, conversation was had until it arrived, which led me to the name of my newest recruit Getsum (#52534).

As I was deciding on my second pick, I traveled around Avonmora searching for the largest, most magnificent banks towering over their measly competitors. So I'll select PulPop for my team.
