All the teams were pretty well made. I could see any of them being able to take over a port. And if one can't decide which team would be better then another in port warfare, or think it's a tie, then they would obviously resort to other factors to decide who to vote for.

Looking at the voting it clear that even with a theme, it doesn't matter. The draft is still purely a popularity contest.

Really honey you’re shocked that it is a popularity contest? I am a little confused. Aren’t Fantasy Drafts often popularity contests?

This one was themed for a reason to get people to vote for the best team for the mission presented as the theme. But, alas, still the same ol draft.

Well see that's the thing..given how many players are of high school age and college age even..it kind of goes with the territory. Hey even adults are guilty of that. There really is no way around it unfortunately.

Just basing it on the number of in-game mails on got even from people on other teams saying I have the best team for the task but they said they were still voting for their respective teams obviously. If I got all the votes for mails I got this would be a landslide.

Bias can go both ways. Some folks might think your team is the best but still pick their own, or who they like the most. Likewise, some folks might think Kims is the best, but vote for your team. Or for Pitts.

Bias no matter what the theme is, or what teams are made will always exist. Some folks might vote for their team no matter what, some might refuse to vote for a team if it has Clock in it. That's sadly a problem with voting. Not everyone votes for the same reasons. Nothing can change that. The only way the best team would be determined is if we got rid of voting and held a contest to determine who made the best team, but that has problems and issues too.

But you haven't yet. It's still early days. I have to agree I believe also all these teams are very strong and would be hard to beat or at least fun to play with and try.

do you know other captains haven't received same mail - as many if not more than your good self?
Players on the other teams would rather vote for your team? Why didn't they? It s anonymous as far as I know.

Like in previous drafts, I voted for one of the teams that did NOT include myself. Could it be an idea to encourage everyone to NOT vote for their own team in future drafts? I realise it can't be enforced, as voting is secret, but still? I trust the community would follow the rules set by the draft administration.

I can't speak for everyone, but I tend to vote for the team based on a combination of who I think has the best team, and to a lesser extent witty banter. Which is why I highly encourage folks to advertise and banter for their team-convince folks why X team is the best. Sometimes I might be stuck between two great teams-in such cases, I tend to go for which team had better banter.

Sometimes I vote for the team I'm on, sometimes I don't. I don't think it's right to forbid folks from voting for their own team, especially if they truly think their team is the best. I once thought that maybe folks could have 2 votes, and vote for their top 2 teams. That way, even if you are biased towards your own team, you can still vote for another. But then folks might just use only 1 vote for their team, and that unbalances things.

Sadly, unless we do a contest to test which team really is the best, voting will always have some flaws in it.

Edit-and in this draft, I can safely say that I had a hard time deciding who to vote for. Everyone had great teams. I really mean it when I say I'd hate to fight any of them for a port

Edit 2-oh and I also factor in Blurbs when deciding. Forgot to mention that. A good team, a good Blurb, and witty banter are big factors in my opinion. Just having a great team, might not be enough.
