A boat comes from one of the galleons. It bears a tired looking captain and some officers. He hails the vessel

Ahoy there. What do you want?

Carl nods to him giving a sympathetic smile.

Just a quick parley-lord knows we're all tired. Now look-we got what we came here for- and we stopped your attempt to send in troops. Now, you lads could stick around, try to keep us stuck in port while more ships come, and more men die, or you could just sail away, we'll leave, and you can reclaim the port.

You're tired, we're tired, both sides lost men. So we basically just want you lot to sail off a ways, so we can avoid any more fighting and just sail away with the loot. Just far enough that we know you don't plan to pick a fight.

We won't ask anything more of you. We won't demand a surrender, just that you lads sail off so we can all go home sooner then later. The alternative is a possible ship battle. And let's be frank right now-you lot lost a lotta men in that attempt, and while we are tired ourselves, I know my buddy kept you lads up all night with those traps, and with constant sailing. Advantage is on our side in a battle at the moment.

If you can't make a decision now, we could arrange a meeting with my side's leader and you lot. Or give you a few hours to decide. In fact, we can arrange to have a local priest come by to give a prayer to the men you lost while you think things over, as a sign of good faith.

The captain sighs

Alright. We'll take our ships away from the shore, far.... away.

He nearly doubles over from fatigue. He smiles

I'm glad this is over.

He grimaces, remembering something. He calls

I say, do you know if any civilians were hurt? Besides the militiamen of course. I have some friends in Baramas, one a doctor and the other a cleric. I hate to ask it's just that these raids have a reputation of being quite brutal...

Carl quickly shakes his head

Oh no. I know for a fact me and my men did nothing to the locals. Jack and his men likewise acted the same. We had a third who betrayed us, so I don't know if he will do anything but I doubt it. When you retake the port though, be careful about him. Traitor to one is a Traitor to all if you ask me-so he might stab you in the back to get some gold or loot outta this mess-do be careful his name was Dreadbolt. I'll have a local priest be sent to your ships and you can ask him how things have gone, while he offers up prayers for those lost. I'll go and inform Jack about the parley, and send the priest over. We can give you an hour or so to do last rites for any dead or dying and prayer, while we ready ourselves to leave as soon as you're finished. You Did your duties well. Glad no more lives will be lost from here on out.

He gives a polite nod as has his men began rowing back.

The captain orders

Go back...

He slumps into the boat and falls asleep as it rows back.

Carl quickly tells Jack about the meeting, while he goes to set up the fort to blow. He has a local priest sent to the flag galleons on the way to the fort as he barks orders to his men to load up any last minute supplies and loot from the fort, while he set's up the powder kegs and trail.

Jack and his men get themselves ready, packing up any supplies. Jack has a bit of liquor rationed out and the men drink it, quite happily to finally get some rum. The priest says mass on the quarterdeck and then comes back to shore to help bury the dead. The big flag galleons slowly begin to move away. Jack and his men, along with the other two captains wait to leave. Hornigold's men bear their captain's remains with them in a barrel.

Carl finishes up his preparations, and waits for the ships to finish sailing away before lighting a fuse, and running full sprint away to his cutter.

The fort explodes in a mighty roar, collapsing in on itself, leaving nothing but a pile of rubble in place of the fort. The sound echos throughout Baramas for at least five minutes before residing. Jack and his men let out a cheer when the fort explodes. They wait for Brian and his men to get to them before beginning the three day march back through the Jungle (it being only three days since they had to cut through it to get through last time.

Brian and Carl both Join Jack Cheering as well. Carl speaks as he starts heading to his cutter

That was great. A few rockey moments but it all worked out. Me and some men are gonna sail back on our cutter to speed things up and to join the men we left behind make sure they're okay. Once there, we should shoot the crap outta that ship of Dreadbolt's. I don't trust trying to take it. He said it was rigged to explode, so I vote we blow it up and salvage the remains.
