Again, not an expert on dragons, but even evil dragons wouldn't intentionally put their own egg in harm's way. Maybe she stole another dragon's egg for ransom. Maybe it's a dud. Maybe it's not a dragon egg at all. All I know is that it seems unlikely it's her own. She didn't even hesitate to try to bury us in that cave by collapsing it. Dragon eggs may be tough, but even they will get smashed to bits in that cave-in.

As they near the dragon he whispers to Dreadbolt

We could ask Veera, or Agrat to examine it, but just between you and me, I'd be careful about doing that. They may try to claim it as their own. Ready yourself. We only got once shot at chopping off a wing. I say we play it safe, and both focus on the same wing. It will be able to somewhat break it's fall, but you and me should be able to chop off one wing before we get shaken off. Or we could each go for one, and it would take an even nastier fall, but will be a bit harder. My vote is to play it safe. What say you?

[Henry Avery]

You saw what my blade did to the scales. But, then again, you aren't made of steel. Can't take the fall like I can... Suppose we should play it safe.

Eloth laughs

Did you forget? I told you I can fly mate. I just can't fly very fast. If you think you can lop off one wing, I can probably handle the other. Then I'll just fly off.

Then let's cut that overgrown lizard down to size!

Eloth nods as they are now close to the port, with Pyron right below them. He takes a deep breath as he readies a axe with one hand and a sword in the other. He hops down and plunges the sword in, and begins hacking with the axe, on the left wing. Pyrog roars in pain and starts doing rolls in the air trying to buck him off.

With a laugh, he jumped down, and with one mighty swing, had his wing dangling by a few tendon, which were quickly detached. As it fell to the ground, he stalked over to Eloth, sawing through the rest of that wing as well.

[Meliva]

The second wing get's lopped off, and as the dragon plummets, Eloth grunts a little as a pair of wings sprouts from his back as he flies off landing nearby just ahead of Pyrog as she crashes hard into the dirt sliding a good distance. Eloth goes forward as he readies his axe before Slamming it down onto her neck a few times before severing it. He shouts to Veera as she comes near with some town guards

You can cut it up and divide the body. I'm gonna go rest. Dreadbolt, you should see if someone can examine what you got.

He steps off the dragon, the egg concealed in a rough canvas sack, heading towards the eastern woods

As dreadbolt nears the forest, Agrat is starting to exit it. She nods to him

Heading to the dragon's cave? I just finished clearing all the rubble. Was going to tell Imp she could help herself to the hoard as promised. I see the dragon has been dealt with. That's good. What are you planning to do back in the woods? Pretty sure everyone is dead or fled by now.

He grumbled. If I tell you, you better not try to thieve it from me. I found it fair and square.
