PG Facebook Page

Postby Zephore » Sun Nov 15, 2020 9:18 pm

Ahoy there.

It appears, that I, Zephore, sloop master and what not, is the admin of the facebook page of which belongs to PG.
Oh, and while the PR teams seems to consist mainly of MERCS... No, this isn't some ingenius plot thought by Haron - at least I think so.

Now, a few of you are following it, as far as I am aware - For those, who're not, it can be found here:
https://www.facebook.com/PiratesGloryPage

Now, if you have a keen eye, you'll notice there's a huge break from posting - just ignore that.
Now, I don't write this to bring attention to the page, nor me. I actually come to you, with a request.

I'd like to bring some awareness onto the page; as of now, It's just small updates on the current rankings, and events ongoing in the game - however, I'd like to change that, at least for a small period of time. To bring the different content onto the page, I therefore need your help.

As for this;
I'd like for you all - or whoever wants to, this is merely a request to send me a message in the game; The message may contain whatever information about the next questions or whatever you'd like to call it, that you'd like to include for me to post on the facebook page. All what'll be posted will be what YOU say. No edits.

Why did you join PG? What were you looking for?
When did you join PG?
What made you stay?
What are you, in this game? (not something simple as pirate, trader, more a bit about your story)
Why should people join PG?
What makes the community of PG unique?
If you ever quit the game, what made you return?

If you read this far, thank you. Remember, merely a request.
Also by all means; Feedback! Negative, positive throw it at me! Just at the very least, try to be respectful.
And yes, I know the posts may not be all too interesting, and theres things I could probably cover better than I do.

**edit, made another question

Can we post it here instead of sending a PM?

The only reason I even have a FB account is to confuse my grandma and her friend by using modern slang and lots of acronyms. I'm not sure if FB is the place to find new players.

Why did you join PG? What were you looking for?

I actually came across Pirates Glory by pure chance. I was on a remote work assignment and was browsing through chrome games for something to play to help pass the time.

What made you stay?

I have liked pirate games since I played Sid Meier's Pirates. Pirates Glory is an interesting take on a pirates game. I enjoyed the idea that there was no single way to play the game and that there was no actual end to the game.

What are you, in this game? (not something simple as pirate, trader, more a bit about your story)

I've been a couple of things in game. Mostly a trader, but I've dabbled in piracy and privateering. Helped rebuild a nation and got involved in some conflicts and minor wars. Beyond that I'm a Player Administrator of the Development Team and Global Moderator on the Game Forums.

Why should people join PG?

It's a great browser based game set around the time of the Golden Age of Piracy You can play anything from Trader, Banker, GoldSmith, Ship Builder, Privateer, Plantation Owner, Nobility, and all the way to Black Flag Flying Pirate.

What makes the community of PG unique?

It's a diverse community of players from around the world that enjoy Mercantilism and Piracy. We all have our quirks, but we all care about this game and the enjoyment and comradery the gameplay provides.

If you ever quit the game, what made you return?

I wouldn't quit, because I enjoy this game and community and want to see it continue into the foreseeable future.

Why did you join PG? What were you looking for?

I was just looking around the chrome store looking for things to do during the long spaces between online classes. PG came up as a suggested game, so I added it as an extension. I've been playing ever since.

What made you stay?

Probably my guild. They were very helpful and supportive of me in my early phases. I can see myself quitting if I had not had their help.

Leo is sort of a fisherman-trader-pirate hunter. He is part of a trading guild, so he is technically a trader. But he feels he doesn't fit into one of two categories. He is unique in his own way.

Why should people join PG?

Because it's fun! It's not the kind of game where you need to focus all your attention on it. You can keep a tab open in the background for hours and just visit it once or twice a day and that's all you need. I think that most people who try it don't give it the fair chance it deserves.

What makes the community of PG unique?

The people who succeed at this game are smart. I think that's one thing that makes the PG community unique. PG is a game for smart people, so most of the people who do well are not only smart, but also fast learners and good listeners. This makes for a one-of-a-kind community.

If you ever quit the game, what made you return?

I've never quit, and I don't plan to. If I do ever have to leave, I'm sure I would come back at some point.

Why did you join PG? What were you looking for?

I wasn't a game player at all. PG is my only one. I was sitting on the back deck of my boat one afternoon when Anne Bonny turned up. She showed me this pirate game she had been playing. I was hooked from that moment.

What made you stay?
The players. The community. And there is just something about raiding those trade fleets and stealing all that gold coin that is such fun for me...

Argo is and always will be a pirate at heart. Currently tho, she lives in the mansion at SeaGlory wearing fancy clothes masquerading as Governor. She really isn't much of a governor, has little clue about most things and spends most of her time just hanging out with her pirate brothers at their guild, CURSE..where usually they are either taking a rest from raiding, repairing their ships and/or planning the next big adventure..

Why should people join PG?
I have learned a great deal since joining PG.( It has actually helped me in rl - I have a tbi and working with the markets, numbers and calculations has seen a marked improvement). On a lighter note - because its fun - its challenging and the player community is the best.

What makes the community of PG unique?
I think for me it the Inclusiveness and openness. I find the community very forgiving as a rule. Not to mention the many very funny and creative folk here.90% of my time here is spent having a good laugh with the other players.
There are many players I've not met but seeing their fleets everyday kinda makes me feel like I do already...I also think there is a willingness to learn and a love for the game itself.

If you ever quit the game, what made you return?

Can't really see me quitting but the reason to return would be I would miss the community and the laughs too much.
Also a meanie-head
