If so, this may need to be balanced out of the system by making the chance that you find a treasure proportional to treasure size, i.e. the 1000 gold treasure as a 1000-times chance of being found over the 1 gold treasure.
Working it this way would seem to make sense to me. A huge pile of treasure is probably easier to find than 1 gold coin buried in some sand somewhere. Especially so if you dont have a metal detector.
Doesnt the treasure hunt find the largest haul available that you can find with the number of turns you commit? You'd only end up with the 1 gold coin if you didnt use enough turns to find anything bigger?
